We have been finding lots of these little less than 1/4" weevil-like buggers in our kitchen and by the kitchen door that leads out to the patio. Find some every day. Since they look like a weevil of some kind, we checked any and all flour and cereals, but there wasn't much to check, since we keep all that stuff TIGHTLY sealed and a much of it in the freezer.
Would appreciate any help in knowing what these are and how to get rid of them. They are pretty much true to color in the photos---light-colored, maybe faint tones of gray of very palest green. Again, they are just a shade under 1/4" long.
Thanks for any help. Several photos to follow.

CLOSED: Little buggers are driving us buggy. What are they please?
Bumped back toward the top---anyone know what these are, please? We have too many of them in the house---in the kitchen and by kitchen/patio doors to outside.
Hard to tell from the photos, but looks like one of the "minute brown scavanger beetles" (Family Latridiidae) listed here... http://bugguide.net/node/view/32180/bgpage
Hi, Nifty.
Thanks.
I will try to get better photos, or else to look at one of the bugs under a high-powered magnifying glass. Looks as if it could possibly be Melanophthalma("dark-eyed beetle?") but may be a little bit different.
They are still showing up, so will be able to get one under a magnifying glass probably tomorrow and will see.
If it is Melanophthalma, I'll be wanting to find out how it is managing to proliferate in my kitchen and whether it can turn into any kind of real nuisance. May give Iowa Extension Service a call.
Thanks again.

Do a google search for weevil using the image search.

This could be yours a granary weevil. But the image is not that clear of yours.
Thanks, Windy.
The little buggers from my kitchen don't have that unmistakable weevil snout. I forgot to get one under the magnifying glass today. Will do tomorrow.
