Any experience with 'White Chocolate' Crape Myrtle?

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

Anyone out there growing this? I was all excited about it when I saw it on Monrovia's website last year, now this year they have it at nurseries here and I went today, all set to get one so that I could add to my collection of purplish/dark colored foliage plants, but the leaves all looked pretty darn green to me! To quote the plant tag "Unique burgundy new leaves darken to chocolate brown ". I saw the burgundy new leaves, but not a chocolate brown leaf to be seen--older leaves were very, very green. I've had other dark foliaged plants where the new leaves come in greenish and then darken to brown/purple as they sit in the sun, but since summer's almost over I would think they would have turned chocolate-y by now if that was the case. I'd love to hear other people's experiences--I was so hoping this would be a great addition to my collection, but it honestly looked like any other white flowering Crape Myrtle, nothing special.
