It has been so hot here, I though I was not going to make the contests because everything is languishing in the heat! .. Last night it rained buckets and buckets and this morning my garden bloomed for me.

Franklinia alatamaha

A small tree in Georgia found by Bartram named in honor of Benjamin Franklin. This tree is no longer found in the wild. It is nicknamed the lost camellia.

Nepeta cataria - Cat Nip

Every time I come in from my garden, my cats mug me at the door .. My cats know when I go out the kitchen door that when I come in I'll have some fresh picked cat nip for them!

I'd say were a bunch of photo-holics. Everyone has such nice photos and flowers. This is going to be a hard contest.

Well, unfortunately none of the wonderful brug babies you sent me will be ready for a photoshoot in the next day. But Sunray has buds! Isabella is the healthiest of the three but no buds so far.

Oops, this was in response to Dott putting some of her awesome flowers up here. I guess I'm too slow of a typer and didn't get it in the next post.

Great Stella. Sunray isn't a profuse bloomer but does well. Sunray is really pale in the summer and puts out a better yellow in the fall for me. It is a must for scent. To me the scent very much reminds me of baby powder and is very noticable at a distance.

Well, this looks pretty profuse to me! This morning.

I forgot to write down the name of this plant when I was shooting. Cool flower though. OK, found it:

This is sedum reflexum (aka Blue Spruce)
