If I am lucky enough to get a seed to germanate as soon as it gets an inch or 2 tall near the leaf or seed capsule, the stem starts to wither and eventually it dies? Why? Plus what is the proper way to collect and store seeds off your plants. I can`t trade if I can`t keep them right? Is anyone in hell, I mean in zone 11 like me.? If so I would be interested in starting a zone 11 support group!! lol. Dawn
What is wrong with my seedlings?
You might want to do some research on damping off. It is a fungus that attacks seedlings an is rather common. I forgot what you have to do to avoid it, but I am sure some research will help. I just did a search on this site and lots of threads came up.
I agree with gardenerme, sounds like it could be damping off. I would recommend browsing around on the propagation forum--there are lots of good tips over there on how to start seeds successfully.
Thanks both of you. I think your right because if I terrarium the seeds so they stay moist most of them mold. I read seeds off your own live plants, not from seed packets, must retain some moisture or they will not grow, so... mold, becomes another issue here. I want to move to a zone in heaven where you look at it and it grows, instead of zn11 infierno.
