Thanks defoecat (stamps "I'm a newbie" on her forehead!) Ummm, how much postage should I put on it? I've never used a bubble envelope before for trades. It's a small one, if that helps?
-Sunny
Usually 2 39cent ones.
Thanks Bonnie. SASBE heading out today. Love your city name :)

You are very welcome. Still have tons of seed, anyone interested, get your SASBE in the mail.
got mine in the mail. Thanks!
deforca I am not sure if you would call me a newbie or not I think I am cuz I have lots to learn. I joined DG in march but have just recently last 2 - 3 weeks been able to get on here and get help. I would love some seeds if you have plenty left. But dont leave anyone out, send to me last. Problem is I dont know how to find you address to send SASBE. And plz what is the B for. I am use to sase.
Thank you
Beck
rwmedic, the "b" is for bubble envelope. To find addresses, go to the home page, at the top there is a tab that says extras, click on it, and it will show you a list of things, one being address exchange. Click on that, and enter my user name, and there you are. You certainly are a newbie, so please send the sasbe, and a note saying free seeds, and they are yours.
fantastic thank you I need all the help I can get. LOL
oh yeah another ???? how much postage and what size envelope is appropriate.
Usually 2 39cent stamps and I use a 7x9 in envelope. You can get them at walmart in the mailing supplies aisle.
This is the way I usually do it. I buy the envelope, and some stick on mailing labels. I address the envelope, and inside place 2 mailing labels, one addressed to you, and the other with my address, plus the stamps and a note saying what it is you want. Some people do so many trades, that a note insures that they don't have to contact you to see what it was you requested. That way, when I get your envelope, I just use your mailing labels that you have prepared, stamp it, fill it with the seeds, and it is ready to go back in the mail..
Hope this helps. PS don't be scared to ask questions, everybody here is very helpful. The only dumb question is one that is not asked!!
Thank you defoecat !!!
Anybody else have need of seeds?
I might give some seeds a try but I have no idea what you have. Did I miss a list somewhere?
Didn't post a list. This is seed from last year that I am offering to anyone who wants them. If you do, send a SASBE and I will send a package to you.
defoecat...............am I too late for this offer? Being a "newbie", I am a little slow about getting around to all of the forums because I get caught up reading and learning all of the "tricks of the trade" from you experienced gardeners! Let me know and I'll get you a SASBE out today. Thanks for the kind offer!
Belinda
Belinda, no you are not too late. Just send SASBE, and I will get them in the return mail to you. I am in the addy exchange.
Super. I am looking forward to giving them a try! Have a terrfic day ~ ~ ~
Belinda
Bonnie, received my seed package today...thanks SO much :)
Here's to dirt under our fingernails!
-Sunny
Hi defoecat, I'm really interested, and I plan on sending an SASBE- there's just one thing I haven't figured out yet, nor have I seen it listed: what do I send the SAS-Bubble Envelope in? Inside another bubble envelope?
Thanks for your generosity!
~Gina
I ususally address a SASBE with a stick on label, send it to whom ever. Inside the envelope, put a stick on label with your address on it, the stamps for return postage and a note saying what you want. When I get it I will peel off the label with my name on it, and replace it with the label you send, affix your postage, and put your seeds in the envelope and send it off. Just an ordinary transaction.
Bonnie
Still have plenty of seeds for newbies, any takers?
Thank you Bonnie, that is very generous of you! I'll look up your address.
Sheila
Newbie posting.
Sending my envelope out as soon as my newly paid for subscription allows me to look up your address.
Stacey
It will be in the return mail.
Wow! What a genoerous variety of seeds I received. Thanks soo much, Bonnie.
Did you by chance recieve my SASBE? I sent it out 2 weeks ago. If not no biggie. Do you have any left? Ill send another. Lesh
Can't remember specifically, but have sent all the envies out as soon as I receive them. Hope it didn't get lost on the pony express. D-mail me your address, and I will send another out to you, feel bad about this.
Hi Defoecat,
I'm definitely NOT new but if you find yourself with extras just give me a holler. I share with several elderly neighbor families who have no idea what a computer is or how to use one. They just love to hear how I trade here on Dave's and get seeds from all over the USA, lol :)) We walk through the yard and I tell them who sent it and where they live and make an afternoon of fun. Please don't worry about us if you find enough newbies to give away all your seeds, We'll be just fine. I have some things left from last Fall. They just love to see the postmarks and notes from all the different DG-ers that trade or do the SASBE from all of the different places. It really is fun for me, too. One couple in particular are 80 and 86. They are delightful gardeners but she is in the mid stages of Alseymers (sp?) Their roses and tomatoes were awesome this year. They brought me their surplus tomatoes and I froze them in my "seal a mealer" for them to use later this Winter.
For anyone that uses this wonderful device the trick is to blanch, peel, and freeze solid before trying to vacuum seal the other end. Otherwise you suck all the juice out when you vacuum seal it. Same goes for berries, peaches and anything else that has a lot of juice in it. Double seal one end, then fill the bag, sit it upright in the freezer, when totally frozen solid, vacuum seal it and it's good for a long time in the freezer. So much easier than the old fashioned canning process. I put my peas, butterbeans, corn on the cob and a few other things this way also but they must be blanched first, cooled and then bagged up and put into the freezer.
We really have a lot of fun. (sorry this was so long :))
God bless, Margo
Margo, send me a SASBE, and I will willingly give you flowers and veggie seeds that you can share. I am in the addy exchange.
STill some left?
