3.5 Billion reasons I'm glad I don't live in the midwest. These things are awful to put it mildly.

The house of a DGer in Illinois. I want to get her permission before I say who she is. The most artistic garden and neatest house. She says that this rose on the front goes into a full bloom in the spring. I like her grass hedge, too.

I have to insert this. Just funny stuff.
At a Gas stop in Colorado, I watched this clever dog in the hot midday..

His eyes followed impatiently as his owner walked into the convenience store for pizza. The dog methodicaly nudged open the truck cab back window until it was wide enough to get into the releif of air-conditioning...
Two feet on the fire and two feet in the fridge?

While soaking in the cooler air, he watched the front door closely until it produced his master with Pizza in hand. The dog savored the coolness hesitantly as the man walked across the parking lot. When he was within a few feet of the truck, he put his available hand on his hip in an admonishing way, and the dog neatly squeezed back into his pidgeonhole in society.
