I know I have been a very bad girl and made all of you worry about me, I got Anitas card the other day and it made me cry. Mitt hi honey I miss you! Vanessa tells me I'm an awful friend for making you all think I'm MIA! Hi Al!!! My Plants from you are all doing so well, I think of you every time I see them! Hi Dave (not Dave)! I saw that I have D-Mail from you I'll have to read it!
I am SO SORRY, please forgive me for not getting on here sooner, I'll try my best not to make you worry bout me like that again. *Hanging head in shame* I hate to make excuses for my absence, but I think you all deserve to know, I have become a workaholic with a garden and kids to tend to as well, I really haven't even called my mother, in as long as I haven't been online, that would be very bad except she knows where I live and comes down from time to time to tell me I need to eat more and then she washes my dishes while I stand there and roll my eyes and plead with her to leave my dishes alone and weed a garden in stead!
Andy, I miss you, I found a new Raspberry bush growing in my yard and I was thinking of the picture of your breakfast that made me slobber all over my keyboard! *ah, yummy!*
OK, don't hold back...
A thread for yelling at me...
Dena were you gone? I hadn't noticed. :-)
Hey Mitt, The Salt Water Taffy and the FUDGE were yum! I liked the green ones best! I have a bunch of E mails and two notes from Nessa saying you forgot my name! Sorry! The Iris seeds you sent to me are doing well, I only got a few of each to grow but they will be great next year! I can't wait! Who knew baby Irises where so darn cute! : )
Dena, I sent the salt water taffy and fudge last year. Have you been gone that long?
LOL!!!
I guess that stuff lasts along time!
Ya know its alittle scary how you all put out an all points bulliten for me, I have e mails from my sister and my friend saying youz guyz are worried about me, GEEZ! I feel like crap for making you all worry so bad! I'm a jerk!
We though they might have called you back to your home planet.
I'm gonna send youz my cell # so you can call me if I go AWOL on you again! This is so bad, how long has it been?
LOL, very funny Al, this is my home planet.... i think?
you two have d mail!
Looks like 5/26 or so.
You need to get some plants pics here.
alright, now your pushing it, can't you just be happy that I'm here! Now you want pictures to top it all off...
Just bustin your chops, I'll be a good girl this weekend and run between the rain drops and get some plant pictures for you.
I have some special Dahlia that need their picture taken!
I hate to put a damper on this, but its off to the big orange box for me, I'm working as much overtime as they will let me have so I can buy a motercycle and get my license, something I promised myself I would do when I was a little girl and a guy told me girls can't ride. So of course I will!
Chow for now but not for good!
D
That's not going to stop me....did you see what she was wearing, when is she going to eat something, don't you do the dishes?????
;;))
I missed this thread yesterday!!! It's about time you showed up!! I'd say go to your room, but I'd be afraid you would and then be MIA again! I'm glad you are back and that it was just life getting in the way. It's been a bit more quiet with the growing season in full swing and nice weather having everyone preferring to be out rather than in. I am sure when the winter snows/colds keep us in, the keyboards will be hoppin! I miss that.
DENA!!!!!
I've been busy the last 2 days and didn't see this. Got to tell you the big goofy smile that crossed my face when I saw Grenthumbs on the thread. (Well, the goofy part is always there.)Never so happy to see a misspelling.
Al had assured me you were still alive but you know how delusional he can be.
Hey, This is a cool idea! Can we set up threads for yelling at other people?
why..who you plan on yelling at?
Hi Dave! Your big goofy smile made me smile! Hi Anita, I miss you tons, thank you for the card, I hadn't realized how long it had been and when I found that card in the mailbox, I cried.
One thing is for sure, I'm sappy and I had been on auto piolet for so long, I forgot I had so many friends who care about me.
It feels good to know I'm cared for by all of you. Lately I have felt very alone in a house full of people. I hope that makes sense to you, cuz I'm not so sure how else to put it.
So tell me what have you all been up to? Gettin dirty I hope!
not that kind of dirty Dave (mind in the wrong place)
Al, I have a problem, my wonderful children thought it would be a fun game to take all of my plant tags out and build bridges for their trucks with them, needless to say, I have know clue what the names of the three Dahlia you sent to me are, all of them are doing great and blooming like crazy, I had to stake them all up! I had no idea they got so tall! My favorite one is the peach colored one, holy moly that thing is a beauty! My mom was drooling over it, she said if I got home one morning and there was a big hole where it once grew, I'd know where to find it, she said I could have visitation rites...how do you like that!
I have a funny story to share with youz... as I do most mornings when I get home from work, I went to check on my green babies, I found a Mater plant leaning out of its confining stakes and twine, so I set forth with fixing it. This area of my yard is overloaded with tall plants and my cat likes this spot very much for stalking things, well this morning she was stalking ME! I had no clue she was hiding in the Gay Feather, I glanced up briefly when I heard rustling coming from the greens of my passed Red Hot Pokers, but thought nothing of it, all of a sudden... a freaky, fluffy sideways pouncing, tail fluffed out, ears back, meowing loudly cat came at me from under the Hosta! I shreaked, and because I insist on planting everything I get a hold of, when I stepped backwards even in my horror I tried to avoid killing one of my darling plants. This will be my downfall. Oneday I will be in my garden and some awful monster will come (maybe one from my home planet, AL) and I wont run cuz Id rather die than squish my plants.
Please tell me we don't pass this illness on to our children....
Missed you all lots,
D
psychotic cat syndrome? Sadly, it's the downfall of many a plant....tsk, tsk...Perhaps you shouldn't have planted the catnip???? Or at least have put up warning signs...."BEWARE DRUG INDUCED PSYCHOTIC CAT"......or maybe there really wasn't a cat there at all.....
Then I'd probably blame either the mushrooms...or the plant that everyone thinks is a tomato....
Boy - I can't believe all the words you didn't spell wrong in that post :)
I think I know what dahlia I sent - just post the pics and I can figure it out.
here is a lot of mine that I have so far
http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/623920/
youz is not a word!
Youz IS a word to this Rhode Ilandah, LOL! Al, when will you learn? I have mind working faster than fingers and spelling abilities illness... You'll just have to love me the way I am, you really wouldn't want me to be just like everyone else would you? Come on now, you wouldn't have anyone to laugh at if I spelled every word properly and I didn't make any typos, besides I'm not the one who got a warning for misspelling "night shiFt"!
Ha Ha Ha!!!! I'll never forget that one!
Anita, I'll have to take your advise and put up warnings in that part of the garden, lest we have another unsuspected stalking incident...
I bet I spelled SOMETHING wrong in this one AL, I'm almost sure of it...
Well, I'm off, I'm having my hubby drop me off at the big orange box tonight, I'll run home in the morning and if I don't fall asleep leaning on the front door, I'll drop in and say good morning. It will be Saturday if I'm not mistaken? Yeah sounds good to me, I like to think every day is Saturday...oops talking to myself a bit there... we otherworlders do that every now and again, huh Al?
Someone tell Andy I say hi and I miss him and Sarah, I found the thread he started, I read it from start to finish before typing this, regretfully, I have nothing to report about from the garden front, so I didn't add to it.
OH GOTTA GO!
D
I was planning a yell at Anita thread. Not being married, you probably don't get enough of that.
Dena, good to have your energy back here. Hope all is well. Feeling alone surrounded by people is the worst. Hang in there.
Dave
Welcome back, GREN. Someone YELLED to me that you were here. lol.
At first I figured you were just busy with family and such, then I started to wonder if your PC had 'kicked the bucket'.
Watch out with those wild Raspberries, they take over.
Stick around.
Andy P
Trust me, Dave....In my family, you don't need to be married to get yelled at..my brother, my sister, my nieces...oh my!
Hey Al - quite stealing my pics!
HEY WHERE WERE YOU I WAS WORRIED SICK YOU COULDN'T SPARE A MOMENT TO CALL OR DROP A LINE WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU I WAS GOING TO CALL THE POLICE......
Good to see you back...this guilt trip brought to you courtesy of DG.....
Garden at Midnite
Hey, This thread isn't nearly so fun without the person to yell at. Did she disappear again?!
You're right! It would be easier to yell at Anita after all now wouldn't it.
Well, at least we know that she is OK.
aww..come on..isn't it more fun yellin' at Dena and me taking her back?
"Youz" guys are a hoot! Haven't been around myself much and good to know all of you still love to give Dena a hard time :)
Al, checked out some of your Echinacea pics this morning - make me kick myself for not planting some in my own garden. Had some leftovers this spring (Sunrise, Sunset and Twilight) that really need to find a spot in the garden, and now seeing your pictures, I'm envious!
Our gardens are starting to feel the effects of no TLC this summer, and spring for that matter! Never got a chance to weed them properly this spring, off to Michigan for three weeks and now the heat is so brutal I can't last long in the garden these days. Finding that all of our trees that we've planted over the past 5 years are growing so fast that even our shade plants are looking for a little light! Turning circles in the gardens wondering where to start first - limp up the trees or pull out the weeds??? I had high hopes of planting a ton of new plants this year - all that have been held over at the nursery for planting in our gardens (some for 2 yrs) and might just have to sit there for another year before I find a spot for them. I think we've created a monster here with our gardens - just too darned much to take care of. And to think we just got back from a road trip to NC to pick up some Japanese Maples, and now we've got more holes to dig! Now if I could just manage to kill a few trees to open up some spots for the perennials that want more sun - just kidding :)
Hopefully I'll be able to spend more time on DG and will be catching up with everyone soon, I really miss it!
Debbie
