Thought this was Casablanca??-ID?

Looking at images here, I think I'm wrong. Anyone have any ideas what this might actually be?

Thanks.

Hi winging ~ welcome to DG and the Lily forum.

There are a whole bunch of lilies similar to yours, such as Gold Band and Aubade. Where did you get it?

Hi Moby, thanks for the welcome! I didn't keep a garden journal at the time I planted these 2003. I may have purchased them at Home Depot or maybe Meijer (similar to Walmart or Target). They apparently haven't been as hardy as the stargazers in the same spot, because the notes I do have says I planted six "casablancas" and four 'stargazers'. Even if those numbers are reversed, I only have 2 of this one growing now. I'm certain the label said casablanca, because I really didn't (still don't) know much about lilies, and I hadn't heard of that cultivar before I got them.

I looked in the plant files, and 'Pooky' looked a bit like this. I think you posted that pic? 'Time Out' also seemed similar.

Whatever it is, I love it. :)

As long as you love it, that's all that matters.

Yep, I have Pookie. Your lily has more slender petals and opens fairly flat. Pookie has fat little petals and are a bit more recurved.

You're right. Pookie's very pretty, too. And a great name!

Now this is odd. I was looking at my pics from last year, and the one white lily I have a pic of does not have the yellow that this year's do. I can't tell if it's in the same position or not from the pic. But this one looks more like casablanca and more like I remember them from last year.

So where did the yellow stripe come from? Could it have crossed with stargazer?

hmm....not sure what to think about this. May have to sleep on it. :)

Just to throw another piece into the puzzle... Apparently, I'm not so observant. This morning I went out and had a good look, and I noticed this one, which is the "baby" of the group. It's the shortest, about 3 1/2 feet tall with about four inch blooms. I've got one more lily that's yet to open. It's tall like the white and yellow ones, and I suspect it will look like those.

The picture is with a flash, since it was still a bit shaded in the area. The color is pretty representative, though.

Oh, and I hope you slept well, Moby. :)

Is that pink I see?? I give up! lol

What may be the case is that you got a mixed bag of white lilies. Frequently happens at big box stores ~ but they're pretty just the same. :)

I think you're right. I don't remember the white and yellow, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there in prior years.

Thanks for your replies. :)

You're welcome. I know how diffucult it can be trying to figure out your lilies even when they come from reputable sources.

Your shorter one looks like the specias orientals that were shipped to me 2 years ago instead of Pink Icicles & Bergamo & Gold Band. They were replaced by the grower and bloomed correctly this year.
