Which species are you growing? V. negundo does OK here, while V. agnus-castus usually dies back each winter but has more impressive flowers.

Berrygirl. Thanks, You will love yours in zone 7 you shouldn't have any problems.
It was a lowes no name... Mine is not dying back, but we have had very mild winters for 3 years. The blooms this year are a good 12+ inches, Would different pictures help identify it?
Mine is the five leaf agnus castus.... That cut leaf one is beautiful! And yours is hardy for you?
Yes, hardier than V. agnus-castus, but not nearly as spectacular in bloom. I like them both though. And just like Albizia, they're too tender up here to have to worry about invasiveness.
