Hi, everybody--
I purchased a '5 oriental lilies' collection from Scheepers and thought I would be able to differenciate between them when they came up. But, of course not! So, I would like some help, please.
How about if I name the varieties, give you the Scheepers' lily page with pics, and then post pics of my lilies, and you help ID them.
Scheepers Lily Page: http://www.johnscheepers.com/catview.cgi?_fn=Product&_category=Lilies:Oriental
These are what are (supposed to be) in the collection:
5 Oriental Lily Arena: Snow-white: yellow to raspberry bands and spots.
5 Oriental Lily Dizzy: Snow-white: raspberry bands and freckles.
5 Oriental Lily Excelsior: Ivory: golden-red bands and freckles.
5 Oriental Lily Mojave: Pinkish-white: yellow to raspberry bands and freckles
Thank you very much for your help
Now, my pictures
Oriental Lily #1 "Excelsior"

A little Oriental Lily ID Game (I need a little help please)
the first one is exelsior
2 is arena
three is dizzy and the last will have more pink...it is mohave
love those oriental lilies...
whoa....that looks like my garden party..doesnt look like mojave...
Well, that was quick!!! LOL Thank you.
I have been totally confused by them for two weeks!
Now if I can find a pic of the mojave...
I think the one in this link is 'Red Hot' --do you agree?!

That last white lily is 'not' from the Scheepers group unless I really mixed up the bulbs (which, with me, is a possibility, though). I don't have a name for that at all.
And I posted a link to what I think is my 'Red Hot' because I thought maybe there was a possibility it is a Mojave.
So you can see I am totally mixed up on these!!!
I am going to look through my pics some more for another possible Mojave.
I love these Orientals. I think they are so much fun!
Thanks for helping me out.

That excelsior looks much better in your picture than the picture I saw...im for sure going to order it...I like the way the stripe down the middle is not just straight down..gets fat closer to the center...I like that...and the color is nice.
#3 is definitely Dizzy, #2 looks like Arena to me. The others I don't have. Polly
gardenglory--couldn't get your link to come up. I am curious.
These Scheepers' Orientals are wonderful, (but they do not seem to be offering the same group again this season.) Very striking.
Do you grow any of them?
Dizzy and Excelsior are extra special! I planted Dizzy this spring and they have'nt bloomed yet; hope the blooms coincide with the crimson 'Tess of the d'Urbervilles rose next to them. Also awaiting blooms from Arena planted this spring as well.
Any idea what this lily is? Is it perhaps a #4 above, too?
But I don't see much rosy brown with the yellow in the ribs...
All these lilies look alike to me. I think I have lily dyslexia.
Edited to say that I think this one is 'Arena', growing in a shady part of the garden thus lacking strong coloration, as Moby pointed out below.

that looks like the picture in the link that didnt come up...i didnt see one of yours like that...They are all pretty.
If you consider thet the Scheeper's photo might be enhanced, the 4th pic in your collage might be Mojave. Looks darn close.
And this is the 'Arena' pic from Mondial (which by the way, is a very neat site for Lilies)

Yes, beaker, that could be 'Mojave'... then again... ? Maybe I'll never know....
:-( This is making me a little nutty!...
Wow tabasco,
I don't have the answer about the names of your lilies, but want to tell you the ones in your collage are beautiful!
Sherry
Moby! I think you've brought us closer to the answer, then. My 'Arenas' do not get a lot of sun. Nor do my 'Mojaves'
I bet my 'Arena' is the center one in the first row --without much rose coloring at all.
And what we thought was 'Arena', labelled 'Lily #2' in the second post from the top, would be 'Mojave'. (I am not sure if I have a 'Mojave' in the collage although the first one in the second row is a strong contender (beaker pointed out 'catalog color enhancing' factors...)
Obviously I am in over my head on these lilies, but I do love the Orientals.
Did you look around on the Mondial site at the huge range of Dutch lilies? They look like they are for the cut flower trade, but then, I so often cut my lilies and bring them inside because of the heat.
Thanks everyone for helping me out on this ID project.
I wanted to post them in Plant Files, -- any more thoughts on what is what so that I get it right?

Tabasco, Thank you for Modial site, now that's a place that I would love to see a coop from.
Amazing collection to see. I found one that I have been trying to Id, but could find no listing to confirm until I found it listed and pictured on their site. You are a wealth of information. Patti
thanks, bbrookrd--
The Mondial people say it is the most complete lily database on the Internet and only for wholesale sales to 'professionals'.
I don't know how many of the hybridizers they include from the PNW, though...the website seems to be mostly the dutch hybridizers.
Tabasco, I think many of us could qualify as 'professionals' BUYERS, that is! Don't you think a nice fat co-op order next spring from DG people could entice them to do an order? Patti
Picture #1, upper left in your collage, and pictured twice in your garden pictures is Red Hot (see my photo under thread Midwest Lilies 4). You're on your own with the rest!
Don
pixie--thank you for looking up your (pretty lily) pic for me.
It doesn't look to me like yours matches any of mine--what do you think? Yours is very close to the Mondial pic, though.
Good luck with your blooms this season!
