Well that would be fine with me. I had one last year that covered an entire wall in a summer. It died because I over fertilized, over sprayed and over watered (wicked witch of the west here...). The new one is so different in every way. It grows slower, has huge hardy leaves and thick stems, supposedly it produces edible fruit, and the flower color is different. I'd like it to fill in the wall eventually, but for now I'm just pleased with a healthy plant. Oh and for some reason I don't get the striped caterpillars (gulf frutillary butterfly or something to that effect). My neice is bummed about the latter, as it was great fun to collect them and watch them change.
I'm in trouble
Very pretty blooms! I like trumpet vine too!
Beware of Morning Glory in San Diego. Mine behaved itself for about 5 years, and then one winter with decent rain it came off the fence, covered the hill, and now is heading for the front yard. It crawls, then roots itself so you can't kill it just by round up on the outter ramblings that it makes. It even strangled out the Passion Flower vines, and is working on strangling everything else. It's too much work for me to get rid of it. We're going to hire someone to pull most of it out. The man said he can't promise to get it all. If I could have it to do over again, I wouldn't. I haven't watered it in over a year, and still it thrives.
I had fond memories of morning glories from my childhood - but they died every winter and never got out of control.
Wow, that's pretty scary. It does try to sneak along my fence line very quietly at the bottom. I will keep a close watch.
Lol!
Holy Cow! I guess one good thing for me is that I don't have much space for it. If it gets too big we have to wack it back just to walk by. I also have a gardener that does maintanance, so between the two of us we'll try to keep it in check. Ok, you just really scared me with that photo!
Hey, are you guys melting like I am? I want to go out and garden, but I'm afraid to in this heat! It was 115 off my back patio this morning - yikes!

Yeah, we're melting too. It was 115 in our hanger at the airport in Ramona today. This isn't what I signed up for. LOL

Yesterday was nasty. Made me wish that I worked in a grocery store. I was wondering if I brought my own chair, if they would let me read in the frozen food section. Lol. I had to run in for something and I was afraid that I would crack when i went back outside. Today was marginally better but still to sticky for me. The clouds even look funky.
I worked outside all day, but wore my swim suit and kept watering myself with the hose. It worked pretty well actually. Of course I didn't think of the grocery store idea!
I noticed the weird clouds too, and found out there's a forest fire in the cleveland national forest. :( Those clouds and the scary orange light were just all too familiar from the cedar fire. We nearly lost our house in that one.
