why do my "heavenly blue" often bloom deep purple???? Such a disappointment!!

Do you have any photos that you can post of your deep purple 'Heavenly Blue'...I'd really like to see them...it may be that you have a very dark cultivar of the new 'improved' type as shown in the PlantFiles here

It is also possible that the seed package may have been mislabeled or contained seeds of a different species...
Please note that Ipomoea tricolor is completely glabrous(smooth,with no hair at all) on any of the plant parts...so if your plant has any(!) amount of hair or fuzz on it,it is a species other than Ipomoea tricolor...

Do the flowerbuds,seedpods and sepals on your plant look to be the same as in the reference photos that I linked to above(?)...
