My Hurricane is starting to kick in, as is my Gold Coast Cotton Candy from Australia. Also, I am postng a Pink that is blooming and I have no idea what it is. It has a nice cinnamony fragrance.
New Blooms from today
Brad, I know I'm new to this but I believe it's a Plumeria. LOL! Just Kidding, I received my Apricot Dreaming and have it potted. I'm looking forward to seeing it bloom. You have a few more that I have my eye on. Thanks again. Scoolie

Great pictures, Brad! I don't think I have one like that pink. Did you compare it to Cancun Pink?
Nope--not Cancun Pink--flowers are too small to be that one.
Your Hurricane looks great. I gotta get that one. Man the list gets longer.
Tami
Wow I love the hurricane one. Very pretty blooms!
Brad, where did you get that pink, do you know?
Clare it came from someone on Maui PG back in 2004--maybe Hetty?? A trade?? I am not sure??
I just noticed that Don's buds don't look right so that might be mis-identified, but T.I. is my best guess:-)
Yeah dons could be wrong i never seen that color in a TI..
Maybe it's the "TOMLINSON"..
My TI is like brads and your correct Clare it's one of our local plumie plants..
My flowers fade to the white not sure what brads does..
Clare that pic you said that was from unknown source has to be FLC lol they are the only ones
i know who do that to their pics..
I need to drive down there and speak to him about his website it's in sad shape with pics
that need a overhaul :)

Brad, where did you get this one? The same source? Dainty Pink is another Florida one. I only have this picture of Roger's below. I'll see if I can find another picture from a reputable source for comparison.
Thanks, Robert, for the help with the pictures. I'll make a note that that picture belongs to FCN. You are right about FCN's web site, but I think others have told them that their web site needs updating, but it just isn't a priority with all the things that they have to do. You are also right that Don's pic is misidentified. I'll delete that one from my gallery.
No problem Clare great job btw on keeping the gallery up to date..
If you need anymore pics for the gallery let me know i will resize them if needed..
BTW
Clare is their a unregister section on dave's i was thinking maybe between me,brad, junglebob, and a few others from florida we could at least keep a online record of local plants that way peeps have a reference..
I know Luc and company do a fine job but their pics from what i can tell don't really match whats before my eyes in my yard.
If there is already a section please provide links so i can update my records..
Thank You in advance Clare!
Robert, any pictures that you want to upload to PlantFiles will be greatly appreciated. I can do them for you, if you like, and give you credit, of course, or you can upload them directly. Uploading is easy. Just look for the link at the bottom of each cultivar page and follow the easy steps. I don't think you will need to resize your pictures to upload them. You can upload large photos to the PlantFiles. There isn't an unregistered section that I know of, but if the name can be verified by other sources -- i.e., the name has been used commercially to sell the plumeria -- then it can be added. There are several of J.L.'s, for example, that are in PlantFiles, which are not registered. You're right that some of Luc's pictures aren't quite right, but that is his business site and not really an official gallery. The PSA has a nice gallery here: http://plumeria.digitaltexas.com/galleries/gallery.asp
Edited to fix spelling:-)

Ok clare..
I was using luc's as a example because as far as i can tell he and exotic's seem to have the most
local plants for sale..
On both of those sites a few of their pics don't match my pictures what they call a local plant and it could be just the lighting or camera they use.. When i took my pictures the camera allows for no correction aka raw format and looking thru my viewfinder at the time of the shot the pic looks like the color of the flowers at the time i took the shot..
I feel it is very important that a few or more sources share the same pics of the same plant that way peeps can match up what their plumies will look like base on the conditions and locations
of those plumies aka down here in south florida the sun and uv index tends to bleach out some of the cvs..
BTW
The reason why i said resize is because if the site compress or resizes the pics after you uploaded them, then the pic might become distorted or not the quality it had before the upload thus changeing the colors and variations a bit..
If i know the final size it wants then i can do it in Photoshop without any loss in quality..

Hi Robert, I don't think PlantFiles compresses or resizes pics. I am fairly sure that they don't. You hit 'Preview' when you upload the picture, and it will appear exactly as it appears in that 'Preview.' If you are not happy with how it looks, then you can hit 'Cancel.' I don't know the maximum size it allows. Feel free to change them to whatever size you wish and then try one and see how you like its appearance.
I agree that it is very important to have an accurate database, and we are working on that, but unfortunately, there are quite a few misnamed plumies out there. Many people want to find a name for their unknown hybrids. This is different than having a named cultivar that you bought or traded for from a reputable source, but the tag was lost. In most cases, the hybrids being circulated are unnamed ones. I have a lots of information on identification in the FAQ's thread so I won't step up on my soap box again about names, and you already know how I feel:-)
That first one is gorgeous with the red eye on dark pink...when do I get one?? :-)
Ok Clare sounds good, tell you what i been busy with work as of late and only have time to post a few thoughts so if you want use whatever of my pics you want..
If one of my locals is a name cvs then add or change the pic to reflect it if you want..
If my pics aid in the database then thats great and giving credit is not important to me
i leave that up to you..
I just want to help anyway i can because i will use this same database if i need to ident a plumie..
take care
lopaka
Lopaka, that's great. I will definitely give you credit for the picture as it should be. We can put the local name as an additional/alternate cultivar name. I don't think anyone would have a problem with that. Your pictures will be a great addition to the database. I must remember to ask Kukiat if he will allow me to upload his as well. His pictures are fantastic, aren't they? I've been busy too and have a whole bunch that I need to upload but haven't had the time. We will get it done some rainy day. When I have free time and the sun is shining, I am drawn to my garden:-) When winter comes, I will need a project:-)
Yes Clare Doc plumies are are..... Hmmm How do you describe heaven even if it is before your very eyes?
All i can say is Doc i am ripping down my superman poster and replaceing it with your photo!
:)
Very nice Brad thats a show stopper..
Loving the full sun today for sure it is about time..
Gingers are the only thing blooming these past weeks besides all my local plumies..
