I think this is a relative to Stargazer! Just bloomed yesterday.
Starfighter blooming!
Very nice!

I don't think my Starfighters are gonna do much this year. They were the first planted back in Apr-May and are strugglin to get goin. Out of the 12 that I planted' two never showed up, one is about 6 inches tall and the rest are just breaking ground. Everything else I planted about one to two months later. A couple have already bloomed and most have buds on them. Oh well, maybe next year if not this.
Gotta scratch my head on that one, scoolie - all of mine came up, but two are only 3 - 4 in tall. The rest are over a foot and loaded with blooms. I'm in Ok, so i thought our climate would be much the same. I did plant mine in containers with good drainage and Moisture Control MG.
Deda1, Same here with the container and MGMC. I came home today and had 5 asiatic netties pride blooming. I planted those about a month ago. Who knows, maybe they will decide to get with the program and bloom this fall instead.
I sure hope so scoolie - they are something to behold! I was just watching the news about a tragedy that happened to a young real estate agent in your town. Small world! I also got the Candy Cane and they are starting to bloom, but blooms not as big or striking as the Starfighter.
I saw the candy canes also but didn't get them ordered before they sold out. I hope they bring them back next year.
This is my first year of Orientals. Do I need to dig them up?
Nope, leave them as is.
deda,
Just gorgeous!! How does the fragrance of these rank with Stargazer?
I do not have Stargazer (on my wish list) I went in and smelled the flower and it has a really nice fragrance though. I picked one for my 78 yr old mother three days ago and it still looks and smells great.
