I live in a community of acre homes, and am looking for an avenue tree to replace the magnolia killed by Katrina. Aside from a live oak, any other suggestions? I asked the agricultural extension in Davie and their list of hurricane resistant trees was extremely limited -- bridalveil, gumbo limbo, bald cypress and live oak.

Why don't you post this in the Florida forum? Someone over there might be able to help.
