There were several branches on 1 of our Oak trees that hung down to where I was having to duck under them so I had my DH cut the branches off. When I was picking them up to clear the area, I noticed a lot of blue color on several of them. The branches were only about 1/2" - 3/4" in diamator. When I looked closer, I discovered they were masses of bugs. I got my camera & took a few pictures, then got the flying bug spray & sprayed them good. They lost their wings when I sprayed them & then they turned a brown color. I accidently touch a few of them when I put them on the burn pile & it stained my fingers brown, but it did wash off fairly easily. Does anyone have any idea what kind of bugs these are? I have 3 pictures.
TIA,
Jan in Central Illinois
