Growing Cantaloupe in Northern California????

Hi all:

We live in Palo Alto, CA---about 30 miles south of San Francisco. I have about 14 fruit trees (lemons, apples, pears, figs, Guava, apricots, cherries, oranges and grapefruit).

I'm interested in growing Cantaloupe. Anyone have experience at this? What is your best advice in terms of type, soil, care?
