Bay Laurel leaves

Brownfield, ME(Zone 4b)

Hoping someone can help. I have had this plant for many years. Last winter it almost died had spider mites, got to much sun and I should have watered it more. So I clipped it back, sprayed with insectical soap and it put out a lot of new growth. The pic shows what is happening to the leaves now. I did water it with a systematic pesticide. Does anyone know what is going on?
TIA,

Don't know but I have seen something like that when the wind has been too dry from low humidity. I can pass it along to Dr. Jerry Parsons, he's our county extension agent and answers alot of questions for me.

Your leaves are likely burned by the pesticide. I have a huge bay plant that has flourished by neglect- Every so often it will get sooty mold from scale, but I just cut off the affected part and spray it with a homemade insecticide(liq. soap, hot pepper juice, etc)
