Herbs: Bay Laurel leaves, 1 by laniebug

Hoping someone can help. I have had this plant for many years. Last winter it almost died had spider mites, got to much sun and I should have watered it more. So I clipped it back, sprayed with insectical soap and it put out a lot of new growth. The pic shows what is happening to the leaves now. I did water it with a systematic pesticide. Does anyone know what is going on?
