My bunny brought it's little bunny today... it couldn't find it's way out of the fence. It was pathetic - I felt badly for it! Even if it DOES eat my green beans...
A storm the other day knocked down several of my Castors - I was amazed how heavy they were! Trying to prop them back upright took some muscle.
Castor Beans 2006
Did you not plant them deep enough,or to you have a sandy loam soil?
I have the red and large green leaf and the silver varities,do you kone anyone that has the purple or pink varities?
Tropic see my message above if you want certain varieties
I think they are planted deep enough, but the veggie garden soil is very loose & rich. The Castor was very top heavy as well. SOmething you may be able to answer Tropicman - Will the different varieties cross? I have the green & the red leaf - Will I end up with a single color from the seeds produced this year?
Well I have several vareities and they never have crossed as of yet,so I don't know if they can, don't know why not tho!
I have the silver variety, trunks are silver with silver viens running thru the leafs.
Mike looking for the pink vareity.
What kind of large plants you interested in?
I found it.
I dont know if its a red or green. My stepmother was just over and we were talking abt how long my dad has been gone. 17 years. Would you believe I am using castor seeds he gave me. Dixie
Here is a better picture of the red or purple. If I am wrong on the names would someone please come in and correct me. I know I had a person 2 years ago send me some castor beans and I thought they said they were purple. Then another sweet person send me some red and green beans. I would really like to know what I have for sure.

Getting a bit worried here. Being from England.
People keep getting arrested for terroism and owning Ricin. I have a few hundred castor beans in my house. That must be enough Ricin to take out most of England!
I'm just a plant lover honestly!
Mike those look a bit like the ones here, but the pink is a hot pink, even the veins in the leaves are hot pink,it's also a dwarf variety, with a lot smaller leaves,I 've seen them for sale on e-bay a while back, there's also a smaller dwarf leaf and shrub variety.
Thanks
