Well, remembered to take my camera today, and got a few pictures of th house we want to buy.... Its been empty for 4 years, and needs alot of work, wiring and plumbing upgrades, and alot of cosmetc stuff, but its a good solid house, newer roof.... lots and lots of potential. Its brick outside, and plaster inside. We walked in today and it was 62 degrees inside and is over 80 outside, so it stays cool!
Here is the front
OT The house we are looking at!!!
There is also honey suckle, Yucca and peonys everywhere! Also, in a planter that has almost rusted totally away are hens and chicks (I don't know there real name, but they are a succulent I believe?) that have been outside here in zone 6 for 4+yeaers and still come back!
I think these are sweet peas, but isn't it late in the season for them?
WOW Janis nice house. Look at all that land and grass . Who gets to cut the grass. Hehe :)) And beautiful plants. You make sure that screen deck is safe with all the little kiddies . Are you thinking of buying it !
Good luck looks like a fun home to live in. And all that land to garden !
Thanks Allison, there is actually alot more land than you can see.... its 6 lots, which I was told is about an acre.
Jeff definately gets to cut the grass.
The price is totally unbelievable, so we just almost can't pass it up. We aren't sure if its gonna be big enough ut we can add on if nothing else. The screened deck was used as a bedroom in the summer, we think we can turn it into another bedroom without much trouble. The attic is huge, but hot and sloped, manbe a bit over 6 feet in the center, but if we could get air conditioners in the windows and maybe an exhaust fan, it would be at least 2 bedrooms!
The biggest problems are the wiring and plumbing, and that someone supposedly made an offer yesterday :(( Oh, and there isn't a bedroom big enough for my bedroom furniture LOLOL

Oh Janis it is adorable. All that room to plant and garden. I hope you guys get it. Hoepfully the offer was turned down and you guys get it!!!! Lauri
Wow that would be so much fun to recreate the way that you want it! I agree it looks like it has great bones and oh my what a garden you could have!
Thanks guys! I am so excited about it! I really think we have a good chance of getting it, as Jeff's mom was best friends with the owners family all her life :)
Janis
Most importantly: Where will you put triple-decker lightstands for all of the AVs?
Kenton
LOL Where Ever I want!!!
Jeff said I could put them where ever if I didn't bug him about them :)
Janis
Very Nice Woof!! Thanks for sending me the link! Keep us posted!!
Great to get all of that room. I think it will be a nice place to live.
Oh!!! I am hoping & praying so hard that this house will become the new home you've been looking for! I saw that first picture and imagined the front porch covered in morning glory vines -- weren't you saving a ton of MG seeds last summer? :-) Just think of having a whole acre to play with... and some established plants in place... and even a shed! Fabulous!
Wow, now that has potential. I can see frolicking woodlawn creatures admiring your beautiful plants, but not eating them, of course. I can see a little jungle in your screened in area, and, Boy! the things you can do with that attic. I will keep my fingers, toes and eyes crossed for you.

Jill that was my first thought too :) I can see my huge Japanese Mg's alll over the place! I am still pretty unbelieving that it might be ours soon!
Kelly, thanks so much! We are renting now, and it is so nice to think that we might have a place to call ours! I'll dmail you back in the AM, got to go to bed :)

Love it, love it, love it, Janis! I so hope you get it! It is very cute as it is, but I see tons of potential there! My husband and I have remodeled (almost completely) our house and we remodeled a house for my Mom, too. Lots of fun! Tons of work, but especially when it's your own home, it's worth every minute. Please keep us updated. I'd love to see you get it.
That brickwork is fabulous!!
What a charming place this will be. Hope your dreams come true.
Thanks so much guys!
We haven't heard anything about the other people that offered on it, I'm gonna make some phone calls today.
Just keep praying!!
Janis
Janis, praying and keping almost everything crossed for you!!!...Lauri
Me too! Praying that everything will work out!!
I shall take part in a great clamour (even if I must start it) to figure out what vine will adorn the back porch if you get it.
Keep your DG friends posted.
