Pod Sisters

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

The Tatiana and Dorthea thread that Kristi started reminded me of another set of pod siblings. Here is 'Adeline'.

Adeline is Soooooo perfect!!!!!

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Jim I am sure I will have one for you by the fall trade.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Oh so pretty! Have they bloomed for you this year yet Delisa? Have you given these two names?

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Brugnanny the first one is 'Adeline' that is a recent photo. The second photo I just took a few days ago. I dont let my brugs in pots go dormant in the winter so they will bloom early for pollinating.

The second, Adelines sister, will probably never have a name. She throws some deformed blooms and I think her pod parent may have already tossed the original seedling.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3a)

Oh Delisa, they are lovely sisters!

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Delisa, you just made my day.

Here's the Crinum you gave me last year.

Kell, No they are not. Thanks for clearing that up if I was unclear. Like Tatiana and Dorthea these are pod sisters. Tatiana and Dorthea are Rubiline crosses. These (Adeline and sister) are Pink Lady X Charleston pod sisters.

beautiful to drool for.. great picture.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Oh Delisa how pretty. Glad to see a pic of her

(Mary) Poway, CA(Zone 10a)

Adeline is beautiful. That must have been a real kick when you saw the first bloom. Hard to believe that ugly brown seed can turn into something like that after you add a lot of sweat and fertilizer.

Maben, MS(Zone 7b)

Delisa, Adeline is beautiful.

Jim you have all the luck, or it your personality?

Love ya

That is possibly one of the most stunningly gorgeous blooms I have ever seen!

Beautiful Delisa~Simply Beautiful.. Just love the first photo you have taken of her. It's picture perfect!
There sure is a far difference in her now from the first bloom she had. It just goes to show you with Maturity comes Beauty.

"It just goes to show you with Maturity comes Beauty."

Ah, Kin .... are you talking about us ladies over 40? LOL

I'm having some problems getting here. With DG that is. Slow
Yes Mary!!!
;)

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Delisa, these are all Gorgeous!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Kin, you are so smooth.

I agree indiana_lily. I think she is just gorgeous. Is she from your own cross, Delisa?

That first bloom pic is just HUGE!!!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Just beautiful Delisa!!!!

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

No Kell, but I would love to have Charleston! These are Ludger Schneiders brugs that I grew from seed. I was only lucky to get the seed. I grew out Adeline and Brugmania grew out Adelines sister. One point I would like to point out is that the pollen donor to these plants was the double. From what I have seen the pollen donor is just as likely to produce a double as the pod parent being the double.

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Just beautiful!!! Thanks for posting them.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Wow Delisa !! They are both simply gorgeous.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Delisa, Adeline is just beautiful. Wow, are you lucky with those pink doubles.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Pretty blooms. We sure have a lot of nice double/triple pinks now.

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Beautiful brug!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh Delisa, I had not known that. I had always heard use the double for the Mom if you want double babies. Good to know. THANKS

This must be a Ludger Weekend here with these great pink doubles of his and Kristi posting his incredible Tatiana (grown by Donna) and then there is the lovely Dorthea who I can't remember who grew her out for Ludger. Another beauty for sure.

Crestview, FL(Zone 7b)

Delisa, Adeline is stunning! I can't wait to see mine bloom :)

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Trish! I just found something here growing that you are looking for. I will send on a box soon!

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Dorthea's seedling parent was Pete Wilson. I am sure many of the members here know him. He is a member of a couple of Brugmansia sites and is super nice (so is his wife Dottie).

Crestview, FL(Zone 7b)

:-) ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh be still my heart as I think I know what it is!! Thanks!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well shoot, you know I am so nosy. Now I want to know what you are getting Ms. Munché.

I do not think I know Pete, but what a great brug he has.

Hagerstown, MD(Zone 6b)

Adeline is stunning Delisa. I bet she will make a lovely parent herself.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Very pretty bloom.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Delisa, the first bloom on Adeline does look totally different than what it does now. I was wondering if the temps were different with the flushes. I know my Creamsickle does not drop the second skirt in hot weather but does in early spring and fall when it is cooler. It will be interesting for you to watch Adeline this summer and fall and see if there is any change in color. Contrary to others, I get my darkest colors in the fall.
