Hooray. My new tulip tree is doing what it's supposed to!
Variegated Tulip Tree
What is the cultivar and where did you get it!? I have dreams from time to time about 'Aureomarginata,' but yours wouldn't burn as much.
(This is where I kick myself for missing the tree forum lately. Dybbuk, your posts are really interesting.)
Thanks. It's called 'mediopictum' and it's been awesome in extreme direct sun. The contrast now is better than in the pic as the leaves have matured darker green and the splash of yellow is intense. It also keeps it's variegation throughout the season unlike the other varieties which blend to green late summer. I got it from Greer Gardens and it arrived about 6ft tall (bare root).
