need your advice

Orangeville, ON(Zone 5a)

Can anyone help? I have several different lilies but mine don't multiply like they should. Any suggestions? My soil is fine for all my perennials. I have huge gardens and the lilies are the only ones I have trouble with. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Most asiatic lilies multiply generously. Are they planted at the proper dept (with minimum 3-5" of soil above the bulbs) and are you using a light mulch around the plants ?

Also, try to deadhead the lilies after flowering to encourage multiplication.

Sometimes, asiatic lilies can take 2-3 years to start multiplying; although most will do so gladly the first year.

Good luck.

Are they getting enough sun? If not, they may not be getting enough energy to multiply and, actually, will decline after a while.
