FYI Panty Hose in the Garden
Byron, please tell us you have a source for your pantyhose (and not your own sock drawer!!!!) Your exhaustive list made me wonder, would my husband would EVER look at a pair of pantyhose and see a creative use for them in the yard or garden? Hmmmm..... Seriously, good list.
Hey, Go-Vols, I'm a husband, and I find all kinds of creative uses for pantyhose. Bryan's list is just a starting point.
However, I will say this as per their intended use. The man what invented pantyhose should be taken out behind the barn and shot!
My OH works at a hospital for multi handicapped childern,
She tears one leg or the other every other day or so.
Have 6 ea 3lb coffee cans full.
Oh I have other uses to, But not in the garden.
Byron
Brook - you're right. Actually, I've always said that if men had to wear them they would:
a) be a lot more comfortable; and
b) last a heck of a lot longer before they get a run; or
c) be outlawed as cruel and unusual punishment
To Byron - Oh my...please don't tell us if you tie up anything other than your tomatoes. WAY too much information!!!! Actually, it sounds like your "OH" is pretty special - I say a lot of prayers for those who work with kids and adults who are challenged. When my old codger grandpa (yeah, I can say that - he was a truly "grumpy old man" until he died) was in a nursing home, it opened my eyes to the thankless work some folks do day in and day out. I can never repay them for the kindness they showed to a bitter and angry old man, but they have my respect and thanks for treating him with dignity until his death.
My OH works in a hosp for multi handicapped childen with almost any type of appliance you can thinks of.
I get about 2 sets a week..
Have 6 ea 3lb coffee cans full.
Forgot to mention you can also use them for fruit supports.
Even made a fruit picker, A long closet rod, some clothes hanger wire, Handy for peaches, You can get 12 to 14 ft with out a ladder, Too slow for commercial picking
Great list, Byron. I use pantyhose to tie tomato stems and other vining crops to stakes or poles.

The funniest one I every saw, was 2 old boys in the Southern part of MD were trying to pull and old Dodge pick up with Panty Hose and Duct tape.

Geratric is simple compared to what my OH does.
These are Jerry Lewis kids in a form you will never see.
MS, MD, Brain Injured and birth defects etc, Most can not speak, educateable to maybe in rare cases to the mind of a 6 yo, 3 yo is average.
tubes going in and tubes coming out, Some times convulsive reactions. 99% confined to a wheel chair, They can not feed or bath temselves. Most can not speak. A few learn sign
a few use word boards.
About 1/2 of them, the parents won't even bring them home for Christmas or come for a visit.
It would tear your heart out to see them.
I have been into the area where the kids are 4 times in 25 years. That is more than I could handle.
Byron
It tears at my heart when I realize how much I take for granted.....we've got our hands full with three rambunctious and mischievous, but mostly healthy kids.
My hat's off to your OH......or should we say "B(etter????) H(alf)????
i have a butterfly made out of a coat hanger(body shape) then panty hose stretched over it and painted-very cute!
