Never mind. I see from the watchdog that they're another one of the lousy Jung Seed companies. Not a great rating.

Lily sale at McClure & Zimmerman
Thanks anyway, it's always good to have a 'heads up'. :)
I'm awaiting a response from LilyNook to see what their discount would be for a group coop. Which Will NOT be run by me up here.
inanda
oooooh, the Lily Nook!. I wonder how that would work with the health certificate. I wonder if they can do just one for several hundred bulbs. Inanda, do you know what the flat rate cost is for shipping between Canada and the US?
I would think that orders from the states could all come in under one phyto to a US host/hostess. That is how NALS deals with seeds donated from Canadians and other countries. It will still add to the cost of the bulbs though. mgh is looking into a co-op from the Lily Garden and waiting to hear back from them.
One phyto to one address.

OK guys.
This is the scoop from the Lily Nook. Catalogue is up BTW.

On orders of over $500, discount is 10%. Bulb cost only. Phyto and shipping not to be included in discount amount.
Looks to me the collections are a good deal. So.... go to it if somebody wants to take this on. I repeat, not me.
inanda
Ten percent?! Pah!
Just realized how rude this must sound. The pah is on them for offering such a piddling discount. It was awfully nice of you to check with them and see what they'd offer, though.

Yes, that is rude.
The best thing to do is for the person running the coop to contact them and ask for a better discount. The discount would probably be higher for a larger order.
Don't forget that lilies are very labour intensive. LilyNook digs by hand, washes by hand, dries naturally and then packs so .....
This means that lilies are not damaged by machinery. That is one reason they are so successful.
The collections are a better bet, costwise.

So much for being nice. I wasn't being rude to you but apparently I didn't make that point.
No, you weren't being personally rude to me. Perhaps you were being rude about some of the best lilymen in North America.
inanda
Edited to add that on this list, on THIS forum, we are polite, we are not rude. Rudeness belongs on Dmail. There are better and more polite public ways to say that in your considered opinion, 10% discount is not enough.

Yes, I can see whether there's any rudeness on this board.
