I have martagon lily seedlings

I grew these from seed from my own plants and I am thrilled that I have some white ones!

The "ordinary" pink one.

Nothing ordinary about those ~ beautiful! You must have great patience to grow them from seed.

You should be thrilled. I know I would be. How long did it take them to bloom?

About 2 or 3 years. I planted some out into the garden straightaway and they have flourished. Some I still have in pots and they heve stayed about the same size. So the lesson is to plant them out asap. I adore them. I don't grow many things from seed - I really don't have the patience but this is very encouraging so I may try a few more!

Spectacular. What a triumph. Did you self them. Are all the seedlings from that particular cross white?

I did have plants of both pink and white so they just did their own thing. All I did was save the seeds and plant them! Some seedlings were pink and I had just about given up hope of finding any white ones then found 2 yesterday! I think I have lost the original white bulb.

I couldn't agree more. Even the difference in planting seed in a small 4 inch pot or a 6 inch extra deep pot makes a world of difference.
