Summer 2006 planters are done.....

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Heres pics of the planters downtown the way I did them this year. These have only been planted two weeks so don't expect much yet, they have a long way to go yet. I kinda went crazy this year,..... :-)

Kyle you have done an outstanding job. I just wish I lived a little closer so I could go see them. Please keep us updated as the summer goes on.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

They look wonderful! I always enjoy when you show your handy work. Thank you so much for sharing the pictures!

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Kyle, would you ever consider sharing your rooting secrets? Or even rooting some for me? I can get them to live 6 + months in water but no roots.

Beautiful.

Mifflintown, PA(Zone 6a)

Beautiful. Keep the pictures coming. Dixie

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Awesome, as usual; Kyle you are amazing.

In picture # 3, what is the white/pink plant in the middle - right above the begonias and Blackie? Thanks, alice

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

what a fun job you have. You then get to go by and see how wonderful everything looks as time goes by

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Alice, its a coleus. will try to find the name on it.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

A coleus? WOW, I never would have thought of that. Those colors certainly make a great foil for the surrounding plants. I would love to have the name of that one.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

Did a fabulous job again, Kyle. I would like one of everything...lol.
:) Donna

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Aww shucks! LOL

Tampa, FL(Zone 10a)

You should come to FL and work in the winter, you would have a good following in no time with those planters on your resume.

Amazed and in awe - Kalola (did I say that last year?)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You have the job I was meant to have. You are so lucky and so creative. I just love your combo plot.

What is the variegated plant in the 3rd and 4th pictures Kyle? Hibiscus tiliaceus Tricolor??

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

auntie Kalola, yu kno me, I even amaze me sumtimes. LOL

Kell , thats the one, I had one tree outside last year that was 10 Ft tall. Cuttings root easy, don't know why people can't find it.

Kyle

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well shoot!!! I have bought it twice off eBay but they are so small, I kill them by missing a watering. I had no clue they were so easy. SHAME ON ME. It is a gorgeous plant!! I bet it really adds to your planters. You are a lucky man, Kyle.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Well, double shoot, I've killed big ones!

I think Kyle is a gifted man; a true plant whisperer.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Have grown many of these and never had one die.....thrown out or froze in the fall, but thats about it.
:-)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Sure , make me feel worse. LOL

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

OK..you look really tired!! LOL LOL couldn't resist...LOL

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Well it's already begun, checked the beds this afternoon and already people are stealing plants out of them. At least last year they waited till fall, not this year, Lost some out of several planters and beds, a banana tree(3 ft tall) and many smaller tropicals,

Tries my patience.....GGGGRRR!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

What a shame. Our world is changing so fast.

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh no! People are really stealing whole plants out of the beds? That's is sad.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

I use Deer off to keep the deer away. Too bad you can't buy People Off.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Well if the waterings wouldn't wash it off I get some itching powder and put on them...but then the crooks would probably sue us for that..what a great world.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

And they would win!!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Kyle, your planters are absolutely stunning. I'm sorry that people are staling your plants. shame on them!!! we should think of a way to deter them.......
i like your idea of the itching powder.
you know how brug juice can be toxic? maybe you could bottle some brug juice and spray it on.....would it hurt the plants? or, poison oak and poison ivy juice.........
hmmmm let me think on this., THIS REALLY IRKS ME and it must really p...you off too. all your hard work and efforts and to have them steal part of your masterpiece. for shame for shame.........
