This is really pretty. The dark color reminds me of the Grandpa Otts color.
The japanese beetles must have munched on the unopened blooms.

The beetles really do numbers on my hardy hibiscus buds also. But when they open up they are sometimes pretty as a snowflake. LOL

Oh yes, that happened to one of my rose of sharons. I thought I had a new hybrid but instead it just got some chewing enough to make it look very fancy indeed. darn bugs :)
