So pretty

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Here is the first bloom on a NOID that I got for 25 cents. It has the most beautiful bloom. Who said you had to have a name and cost a lot to be pretty?

We should have another contest. Awhile back, I think it was MsC had a contest to name a baby canary. It was about Christmas Time. Someone with FC might be able to help you id it.

Missouri City, TX(Zone 9a)

Thanks april. It is so pretty I really can't believe the color of the bloom. What would you all call the color? Burgandy and light pink???

Missouri City, TX(Zone 9a)

Yes I think so, it's a wonderful combination!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

It's beautiful ! I've never seen such beauty . But with 30 thousand plus named Av's I've only seen a few.
Nice buy Diane!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Wow...that flower is stunning!

It reminds me of an Iris, the way its color is patterned. Very beautiful!

Lilburn, GA

Yes, when I first saw the picture, i thought it was an iris.

It is stunning!

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

makshi,
That's a real beauty!
I have tons of registered AV's now, but still have to go look at all the NOIDS.I even bring them home... I have no willpower when it comes to AV's.

The only thing stronger than my willpower is the bugdet.

The Heart of Texas, TX(Zone 8b)

LOL, the only thing stronger than my will power is a PLACE to put them!
Our new house is 1/2 the size of the old one...no room on the shelfs or anywhere else .

MsC:)

Red Oak, NC(Zone 7b)

Love that NOID!!!! Beautiful. That's my kind if deal!

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I broke a leaf off of her yesterday moving her around. I go catatonic when I break a leaf. I grabbed it up and ran for a cup. Well, ran no really it was more like waddled real fast. :)

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Makshi, I know just what you mean! I can come up with a little cup of potting mix for a broken leaf faster than I can find a band-aid when I cut myself!

That is a wonderful bloom!! You need to give it an unofficial name... I must be hungry, because I'm thinking "Blackberries & Cream" when I look at the pic!

Silver Spring, MD

How about Blackberry Parfait?

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

This is so beautiful! If you ever have a leaf to spare, please keep me in mind :)

ohhhh yall are coming up with yummy names! what about blackberry cobbler : ) or blackberry summer

kelly

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Well, I love all of the names. I guess I will have to put all of them in a bowl and drawn one.

Roopville, GA(Zone 7b)

great idea!!!!! let us know the winning name : )

kelly

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Aren't blackberries black?LOL Is there something that is more in the line of burgandy? Come on if I pick your name I will send you a leaf if you want it.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Blackberry juice, jam, ice cream, etc are all that wonderful deep purple color in your photo. You could go with Boysenberry Parfait or Mulberry parfait, but I think those are just slightly pinker tones... of course, color description is so subjective!

Here's a photo of some blackberries ripening in my patch... Like Concord grapes, they look darker on the outside than the color of their juice. I promise my tongue did not turn black when eating them. :-)

what about diane's burgundy beauty

kelly

Missouri City, TX(Zone 9a)

Growing up in California- where we love our Bosenberrys- thanks to Knox Berry Farm- I have to say it's more like Boysenberry and the 2 tone makes me think of cobbler or lace or fluff or merrangue (sp) Bosenberry Merrangue- that's my suggestion.

I like Nanna's choice of "Parfait" to describe the bitone coloration! Besides, to quote one of my favorite movies, "everybody likes a nice parfait!" (but.. Shrek... not everybody likes onions...)

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I know this thread is making me hungry for something with berries.

Red wine is burgundy-colored. How about Berry Wine?

Missouri City, TX(Zone 9a)

Critter, Parfait is good! My choice would be Bosenberry Parfait- but then I am partial to bosenberrys!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

There's only one registered AV with "Boysenberry" in the name ('Buckeye Boysenberry'), as opposed to 9 with "Berry," 6 with "Mulberry," and 4 with "Blackberry." Six registered AVs have "Parfait" in the name, but none are any kind of berry... so my vote is with April's suggestion, LOL!

Makshi, I hope you realize we're just having silly fun with all of this... you should call your noid by whatever informal name you like! It's a beauty!

Missouri City, TX(Zone 9a)

Jill is right, here we are telling mom what to name her baby!

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I love all the input. She may get a name soon. Just thought I would let you all know that I named the venus fly trap Sadie. She seems to like it.

Pinellas Park, FL(Zone 9b)

I didn't read the whole thread. Did anyone ID it. Reminds me of Optimara "Rita" I have a couple of them.
