I know it was hot today but I wasn't expecting to have to try and revive everything I planted within the last couple of weeks. I'm just trying to get the hang of how often and how much water I need to put down. Apparently, I've miscalculated..lol. The trees, shrubs and vines seem to have done alright but the poor flowers had really taken a beating. They all looked great this morning and I watered really well on wednesday. Everyone, keep your fingers crossed for me!
Wow this weather really took a toll
Yes, I was gone all day and things had really drooped...welcome to summer and higher water bills! Maybe this year I'll be smarter and bump everything up to larger pots and wait for fall to get more into the ground. Wouldn't it be great if we did the right things at the right time? All the time?
Yes, this heat has really taken it's toll. It just hit so fast that things could not get used to it gradually.
I have been doing my usual morning waterings, but have had to run out mid-afternoon and give the wilters a drink. All the lobelia that I had just planted out and had great root systems are fried to the ground. So sad.
Bummer! I feel for ya. Most of mine came back alright. A few look a little tore up and few others look as though they been boiled.
