Does anyone currently have this species in bloom? My small specimen is loaded with buds and blooms with the only "drawback" being the short life of the individual flowers.....seems as if the flowers drop the day after opening. I think the flower of the native mountain camelia(Stewartia ovata) is more attractive and I'm waiting "patiently" for my small "grove" to flower!!!

I really like Stewartia ovata flowers, too, but I wouldn't kick any one from the genus "out of bed" around here.
At least their bark isn't worse than their blight.
