Still not open.....but

This dark Asian lily still hasn't opened...hopefully it will open any day. We have not had measurable rain since May 11 when we got .03 inches of rain...woo hoo! I"ve been psending 2 hours a day makign sure everybody get some water and I missed yesterday because my lupus didn't care for me becomng a feast for the fire ants the day before...since it got up to 98 degrees yesterday, it was a bad day for me to be too sick to go outside! My weeping willow's leaves ahve all dried up and just Tuesday my sis was bragging on how healthy it was! Anyway, I"m hoping that missing a day on the hottest day of the year so far won't mess with the blooms.

On a happier note, one of the Peruvian Daffodils my sis brought me put up a bud today.

Sure hope you get some rain soon and a break from the heat.

Me too! It was 98 yesterday. Today was a bit better, but Monday is supposed to be 97. However, with the tropical storm it looks like the temps will be dropping Tuesday and Wednesday...probably from all the cloud cover. Don't know if we will get any rain, but it would be nice to have a cooler spell.

Well, they opened and turned out to be pretty classic looking Tiger Lilies....orange with dark spots. I was so hoping that since the buds looked dark red the flowers would be red or pink...sigh....Oh well, I shouldn't complain, I used to wish I had some Tiger Lilies...
