Advanced Search

I'm gonna start by quoting Dave:

Quoting:
In typical Dave-fashion, I wondered how to take this to the next level and use technology to solve the problems that I was starting to run against.

A big dreamer like me just loves somebody like Dave. :)

I've run up against a little - mostly time consuming - problem. I would love to be able to select more than one choice from some of the categories offered in Advanced Search.

I'll use an example of a search I was just working on today.
My choices on selecting height start off with:
--under 6 in.--
-- 6 - 12 in.--
--12 - 18 in.--
--18 - 24 in.--

So when I don't care if the plants are anywhere between 6 and 24 inches, I have to do three separate searches.

In addition, I need the plant to be all or part poisonous (I've got some seriously hungry wild critters that I'd like to dine elsewhere) so that now makes six separate searches.

Plus I'd really like a plant that has red, dark red, or white flowers... don't make me do the math to see how many searches that would be!

Is there any hope for a dreamer like me?

With great appreciation for this wonderful site and all the hard work it entails for you,
Jen

Still dreaming...

Hi Jan....I know what you mean!

I just don't know how feasible it is to permit someone to select more than one criterion from each area - that's a question for Dave.

You probably know this already, but you don't really have to start each search anew - you can back up (browser arrows and multiple windows are very helpful) and re-set the height for each new search.

Am I asking in the wrong place then? Is there somewhere else I could go to nag, er, um, politely ask?

Yes, I do go back and reset just what I need and that does help - but my computer drinks molasses in searches.

Thanks, Terry.

Jen, this is the right place to ask - I'll make sure he sees it ;o)

I found this great plant on a clearance rack, $1.98!!!! I it beautiful... I know it is in the Coleus family but I can't seem to find any more information about them. When I bought this it was just marked to clearance because NOBODY knew what a charm they had. This plant is already over 26 inches in height, I took a broken branch and stuck it in the ground and it too is growing healthy little leaf-lets, and started its own rooting. Please help me find more information about my bargin of the year plant!!!!

TopCop, if you want to get plants ID'd the best thing to do is sign up as a subscriber so that you have access to our awesome ID forum--all sorts of people over there who can ID pretty much anything. There's also a Coleus forum for subscribers where you could get your answer too.
