Hi everybody! Long time, no see! I see that I'm way behind on what everyone's got growing this year. I'm gonna need a week to catch up on all the photos! I thought I'd share a few photos of some interesting flowers I've had so far. This one is pale purple with a darker purple flaked star.
A few interesting things...
Stacey - The Pale Purple with the Flaked Star is Outstanding(!)...

Stacey - WOW!!!...This Purple Flaked Star is one of the nicest JMG's that I've ever seen...in it's typical or atypical form...

Cool, isn't it? It comes from the same set of vines as the first flower I posted, so I don't know if the first one was just a fluke, or if there is one vine out of the three or four that makes just that one type. Judging from Dr. Yoneda's website, it appears to be #11 of typical MG patterns. I think the first flower I posted is #7, which means I may have two separate vines growing.

I was thinking the color was going to be hard to describe when I took this photo, but now that I've seen what I captured, I'm stunned! I'm glad I caught the sunlight behind it, because I had no idea that the colors were in ribbons. It appears mainly blue, but you can see streaks of pink and sometimes the blue and pink make streaks of purple. Too cool!
The next few come from a no-name mix I got from a trade few years back. I wish I had the info still so I find the person who gave it to me. In the mix: all are picotee streaked pink, dark blue, and dark purple. I really like the blue's color, since it bleeds heavily into the white edge.
Pink flower:
Stacey,
They are ALL absolutely stunning.
What a group of winners you have.

Stacey - This multi-colred one is a frontrunner

It's also on Dr.Yonedas site somewhere...the two here

have alot of visual impact...
The pattern #7 and #11 on the Yoneda site are similar...if you extend the tips of the radiating lines in pattern #7 you wind up with pattern #11,so #7 could represent a 'diluted' or incomplete form of #11...
Go Man Go(!)...

You know, I was thinking the exact same thing about #11 and #7...I also noted it sometimes the star is bigger or smaller, depending on the flower, so I think there's some overlapping combination with #8. Just my thought.
Wow Stacy those are just the Best I have seen in awhile. I love the one with the stidations... http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=2384620 .....just beautiful sure am glad you posted them for us to see. Wow They Are Beauties.
Where did you get the seed??? And will you share???.......LOL
Thanks, everyone for the compliments. I wanted to say that before I forgot to, since I've been rambling about patterns...
Dee, I think I bought these seeds on eBay, but they didn't come out like the photo. Depending on how well the seed sets, I may have a few to go around, but I don't want to count my pods before they ripen...*G* Check out this one from your seeds that I got today. Definitely chocolate tye-dye!
Stacey!!!!!!!!! Gasp I am sooooooo jealous............LOL
I love everything the Chocolate Silk Morning Glory Family has given me and the tye dyes are not exception. I just love it..........save me some seed if you get some I gave every last one of mine away and the 6 I planted didn't make it.
That is very, very pretty.......the Chocolates are my favorites.
This is the beginning of the Chocolate tye dye that at one time I thought was in the sun smile mix. I have since had more like them from my Chocloate Silks which were not suppose to be crossed....well go figure......
Dee, you gave me tons of seed. I still have a lot of the original you gave me if you want some of it back. I'm not sure how many vines are on that teepee, but it can't be more than two, and one is the pink blizzard, so it shouldn't be hard to sort them out.
Simply lovely!!! I am so excited to see all of your lovely blossoms while I wait for mine to get going! I did my first MG's last year, with a few Heavenly Blue and a 2 wonderful groupings of Star of Yelta/Grandpa Ott's. This year I've gone hog wild! I have Texas Wine, Pink Star, Yuma Blue, Hanahubuki,Kyoko Pink, Morning Call Dwarf mix, and about a hundred going from a mix sent to me by Beverly Goltz! Each day I walk the yard checking their progress and giving them words of encouragement. I am hoing to see them clim my baby maples, my wishing well post, the fence post they took to last year, and my felled tree (pictured below). Having viewed your photos, I am breathless in anticipation!!!
Thank you for sharing!
