Grey Lady

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

I thought this one would never go either. It took forever to vine and several times I thought it was gonna croak. It would turn a yellowish color and drop almost all the leaves. So I kinda gave up a stuck it behind my Husband Tool shed. What a surprise to find the vines recoverd and full of beautiful blooms.
I got the seed from Sylvia (Minigranny) last year and planted about half of what she sent me and lost all of those never getting a single seed. So this year I planted the rest and hoped for the best. I sure am glad they made it.The blooms are a real silvery white with a ting of grey in the petals. This is a really pretty MG and it is alot bigger than I thought it would be to.

I don`t know if this is the case but do you have any cats or do your neighbors have roaming cats? Cat pee will do exactly what you describe. If they urinate where the roots are sometimes the plant will die within a day. If a tom cat sprays the plant it will drop the foilage overnight and then usually recover but some will die. All you can do is fence them where the cats cannot get to them.

I use tall pots or fencing to prevent this because my neighbors have 3 or 4 cats and I have 2.

lol........well that is a possiablity on some but this one happens to be in a 5 gallon bucket so he would have to "Hike" up a good bit.........LOL

I am just so glad to have this one blooming and hopefully get some seed to trade and more to plant later on.

These are real standouts in the garden. I may start some lighter colors like this. It seems to set things off pretty when you have some vines like these.

I have a collection of tall pots and sometimes I set them up higher where none of the cats can get any ideas. :)

Dee, the gray almost looks like a powder blue, such a soft color.
I love it.
