Andersonii Morning Glory

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

I have babied and nursed this stupid MG for 2 years now. I don't know how many times it died back and I thought for sure it was a "Goner" but here we are today with the first blooms. The leaves on this one are a yellowish color and I don't know if that is what they are suppose to be. Anyone else growing this??

Hi Dee,
I've got one also but it is green leaved.. Since it is a potato/tuber underneath, I've used that Mighty Plant three weeks ago and also this week used Messenger. The leaves were a little lighter than the rest of the MGs, but now it is a nice green, not dark though. I thought the flowers were very nice that year. It hasn't bloomed here yet but is growing like anything.

The one here had tried to climb the roof already and I've turned it to come back down. It has the 6 ft. bamboo sticks in the (5 gal pot) and has passed those heights. I am hoping for a ton of blooms this year.

Also, I have it against the house, gets moring sun, afternoon shade.
You already went through the hard part of keeping it alive, and now it will be reliable each year.. Don't give up.

I can do better than 2 years! I have had mine longer. This is my 6th summer since I planted the seeds. Only two produced plants. These plants have died off several times each. The tubers are huge. The tubers are also multiplying. Never have the things bloomed. Not one. Im going to try puttng them in bigger pots and adding longer poles for climbing. Not giving up yet

Wow Antionette that looks just wonderful. My Anderesonii has the sickest yellow leaves, I guess it isn't perked up yet.

Dee, give it some MG or Peters, they maybe need some fert. I have these little itty bitty grasshoppers that are making those holes in the leaves.. ugh..
