Crepe Myrtle Tree
In Louisiana, USA, the crepe myrtle grows almost anywhere as long as it is not planted too deep. It likes sun and light to bloom well. It likes to spread so do not plant it where it will drop blossoms on automobiles. It likes water and a yearly feeding in the springtime. I have had them out of the ground, almost bare root, for several days and they thrived after being planted again.
...so do not plant it where it will drop blossoms on automobiles.
You're so right about this. We inherited a quite mature one that bends down whenever it rains and then rains blossoms all over our cars. My husband hates it and complains every year. We've tried a few different things to keep it back, but I think this year it might get a more severe pruning.
Lovely tree, though.
