Has anyone added the rooting hormone powder to water? Or would that be a "no-no"
Regarding rooting hardwoods in water...
As an experiment, I put some of my neighbor's gardenia clippings (which fell on my side of the fence) into my bubbler. It has been 2 long months, and I'm just starting to see root nubbins. I used rooting hormone, but I can't say that it helped or hurt. I think using peroxide in the water to keep down algae has helped as much as anything.
Thanks, Olady - btw, what is a "bubbler"?
A bubbler could be a type of :
hotspring in Australia
hookah from a halal grocer
video game
pipe from a head shop
something in between a web site and a blog
an aquarium pump with an air stone
The last is an inexpensive quasi-hydroponic system. With still water there is a race between the roots and algae and bacteria. Most plants do not root fast enough and the wet part will start rotting.
Well now that clarified things for me...LOL
