does anyone have any luck with glossy abelia growing well in shade?? the tags sez part shade...but i figured
what the heck....i may have to watch them die and i will dig them up b4 that happens...but i would like to see
if anyone else has had luck with them in the shade....no direct sunlight....just sun thru trees;
Glossy Abelia made in the shade or dead??
I have several that are underneath red maples. Those that receive a little light look better than those that receive virtually none, but they all are living. This is also an area of the garden that I seldom water and the soil is lousy. These are tough, tough shrubs much more adaptable than usually given credit for.

have they grown?? thanks:)
Yep.
Scott
i love them....today i made sure to see exactly what kind of sun they do or don't get...and they do get sun coming thru the trees....quarter size pieces of sun....is that dappled?? thanks for your response!!
