Have a mango seed (from a recently eaten fruit). How do I plant it to become a tree?
Thanks!
Mango seed
I was watching for an answer to your "?". As no one has responded, I will tell you I kept one damp till it started to sprout. Easily done. When I put it in soil, it came up and died. I, too, am curious. Guess we will have to learn from experience... our own. I will continue to watch. Good luck!
Just planted another one. Had one a couple of years ago and neglected it. Remove the seed from the hairy fruity shell and plant it in a tall glass next to the side so you can watch it sprout. as soon as the root reaches the bottom of the glass remove it and plant it in a 6" pot an inch below the surface. I remember it taking about 2 weeks to sprout a root and a couple of days after moving it to a pot to send up leaves. Hope this helps. Be gentle with the root when replanting... Carol
