;) LOL
Digging they lost part of the shipment but we've been overcast for the past four days (at least) and are receiving a fine misty rain this afternoon (so far we haven't gotten the 25 to 30 mm that was forecasted for yesterday).
Send your moisture West
see lilypon i told you canada post would lose it.
send more heat went to mow my grass today and i could see my breath yucky.
Well the sweltering heat is upon us here in Mississauga, ON and I can barely BREATHE!! ugh. Filled the birdie bath this morning and it's now dried up....poor birds. My plants are completely stressed......this heat has come too soon and now I can understand how you all out west have felt.....digging_dirt, you can have it,lol.
The weather has noticeably changed over the years in Canada and makes me worried about our future environmental conditions. All these chemicals, lotions, potions, & sprays, brown air over the cities....what are we doing to ourselves??? Seems everything has a cause and effect.
What a coincidence digging-dirt; I planted a sandcherry as well!
Received the parcel digging Ü (late but I'll take it :).....we got 1 1/2 inches of rain (plus 2/10th's earlier) and whatever 2 days of mist falling totals.
Thank you!!! :D
p.s. Southern Ontario (& it's inching into Quebec) looks mighty warm today (sorry Steve) so hopefully you are in line for it digging. :)

Sorry Erynne!!! Better aim your fans eastwardly and get it moving out to those Islands.
Stopped raining Sat mid day and I thought if it held off I could cut the grass before Open Gardens Sunday but when I got up Sun morn, the frisbee on the lawn was 2/3 full again! But - it did stop raining late morning and none since. So all the garden visitors did not get rained on although it was rather chilly having to stay outside for 4 hours. I had the heat on in the back porch and a big pot of coffee for my helpers. My front yard helper actually weeded when no one was there! Had about 125 thru the yard between 12 and 4pm.
I wouldn't wish this on anyone,lol
Erynne I'm pretty sure their Maritime climate will moderate it somewhat. ;) I feel for you.......it was awful planting the garden in it .
Glad it at least wasn't raining for you Carol ....... I understand your suffering tho (I planted most of my pots out in the cool mist). It's really ugly adapting to these weather extremes.
Carol your rain from two days ago is here now.........and I'm not going to complain!!! Environment Canada is still predicting a hot and dry summer for us.
We have been blessed with two soaking days of rain preceeded with 5 days of sun. We are now back to perfect rain 15 min and 5 hours of sun. This is the best spring now that it is warmed up. Nights 48 to 55F and days 55 to 65F and the relative humidity is about 65 to 80%. The perfect greenhouse. My garden was singing Puccini's Madame Butterfly today. Oh our water table that was so low for the last 5 yrs is back to normal. Whew.
oh good lilypon,i know the ducktape would work ans hold the rain in the box ha,ha.
nicer today hot and sunny one min and clod and wet the next, and that is just how it was to,
went to our corner store and bought a icecream cone because it was so hot ,came out of the store and got drowned with the rain it was so funny.
Erynne i got my sandcherry a walmart thay looked so healty the color is so close to that of the smoketree had to have one,im going back this weekend and having another one.
Oh i got to tell you this story went to canadain tire last saturday that thay had some wigleias i think thats right on sale for 24.00 i got it for 7.00 the pot wasn't price so thay gave it to me for that price cool or what.
Happy to hear your corner of the mountains is doing well Sofer. It sure makes me feel more relaxed when our water table is back up to normal. Mid 70's here right now but it will be climbing quickly to much higher temps by the end of the week.
LOL digging I'm glad the temps at least got warm enough for you to go out and purchase an ice cream cone. :)
The sun is out for the next few days and it will make the long rain turn into mega garden. I can hear the Columbines growing. Its about time you get your hands dirty. I'm done and planning the canoe trip details. Oh a nap in the hammock too.
AAk, I saw hail at supper time. Had to run out in my socks and get wet to rescue my tomatoes. No, I haven't planted them yet, but they are doing nicely in the pots. anyway if they were planted, I couldn't rescue them.
So steve, when do you think you will finish your trip? in Wpg?
digging, I like when I get deals like that and no I don't ever feel guilty about it. More plant money I figure.
Lol Brenda, in your socks? I think I'd do the same and risk hail injury and stained socks for my plants too!
Echoes I will probably do the Pas next June and then down to Lk Winnipeg. At best this year is 1/2 the N. Sask. I am in no hurry to get it done. I want to stop and meet the "natives" on my way down. Lets see Moosehead Amber, Molsen Canadian, Kokanee, you know ALL the natives.
LOLOL you are definitely heading to where *the best* hops/barley natives can be found!
p.s. Don't worry we are digging lots and lots of holes here (and amending them with your fav *protection from the bird flu* fertilizer;).
So echoes have your socks been bleached white again? Personally I go for the barefoot clogged look ...... saves the socks but I won't talk about what my feet look like (or my dress pants that I forget to change out of before I start eyeing the back yard). :S
to bla,bla with the socks got to save those plants, and you could always use those cocks to use when you cut the grass why ruin another pair, gees im sick of cutting grass already with all this moisture it growes over night.
wish i could dig out all my grass and plant floweres with a nice pea gravle path but to much grass and not enough pea gravle,i have the plants i'm never going to live long enough to get them all in i still got to make more beds.
Cut the GRASS ??? CUT the GRASS???? Isn't that what husbands are for? Anyway they were blue socks, and I wouldn't get around to bleaching socks til about three days after I'm dead. I found out that I don't move as fast as I use to either. But the hail didn't get my tomatoes. Digd, I'd show you pics of all the plants sitting in my driveway and on my deck, but I don't think the rest of these DGers deserve that good of a laugh. I have to stop digging up and dividing and potting them up. I do have three big compost bins.
Oh but we are very deserving.....lets see! lol
I'd say you show me yours and I'll show you mine, but I actually just finally got them all planted - and now I have another 2 new ones to take home and plant :-)
With every bed I make it takes me less and less to mow the garden. Only one trouble it now takes me 4 days just to set up my irrigation where as 2 years ago it only took 2 hours. We won't describe all the other extended garden activities. Grass 10min/acre. Raised beds 10days/100sq meters.
yes ,Soferdig i feel the same way more bed less grass, andEchoes sad news i am the HUSBAND i plant and make the garden look so good and all wify poo sayes is did you get the grass cut yet ohhhhhhhh i could pull my hair out.And when i sayes you can cut some she sayes thats why i have you.ha,ha lol
smart lady!
All our grass in the outer beyond looks wonderful this year. and the tree patches and windbreaks are nicely tilled. The inner yard is lacking attention somewhat though, because man can't sit on a tractor to do that. At least not a big tractor. Seems whippy snippy is no fun anymore either.
Not complaining, ........it is expected........boys and toys, etc.........
I am fixing my lawn mower for the 5th time this year. I need to drive over it like in the commercial and then my DW will let me get my John Deer 15mph turn on a dime replacement. I have cut the grass and it looks like you know what and even my wife is thinking Green. OH Boy!
Digging Dirt I rarely get any pats on the back for all my hard work either. My wife takes all the credit when we have garden guests and I just encourage her so she will let me get more toys for the garden. You know we men are deeper in humility than our better half. Right Echoes?
LOLOLOL it'll be interesting to see how echoes replies to that one Steve! ;)
Whatever you say Steve. You must be one gem of a guy.
Well my DW is the motivation for all my effort, the reason I create, and the emotion that I put in my garden. So it is all her work.
ROTFLOL!!!!! Nice recovery Steve :-)
I had to be gentle, it is his birthday after all.
Yes I am so sensitive, being a man. Thank you Echoes.
and seamingly, so well trained. kuddos to your DW.
Yes my mother, my church, my life, and MY DW.
First happy birthday Steve.
And my wife doze the same thing.I love that commerial ,If i thought that would work i would tie my mower to the car myself.
And my wife injoyes the gardens just as much as i do until its time to weed then i cant find her, mmmm man the weeds are thick this year may take weeks to get them all,ha,ha lol
My wife and I walk the garden together often and when a weed is present it dies with both of us talking and planning and killing the little suckers.
So has everybody in SK and AB had their share of this rain we're getting? If not I'd be happy to send it back to you. We got our inch and a half today, and there is some menacing thunder and lightning going on out there again. Sure hope there's no hail in it..... or worse.
Turn your fans west Brenda.......I'll take more. :) We've been bouncing back and forth but am getting well acquainted with the nineties. :*((
No rain here please until next Monday. Have an outdoor agility comnpetition (regional championships) on the weekend and I am the site manager - 3 x 12 hour days is what I am looking at! Low 20s with a bit of cloud would be nice!
So Brenda how bad did the storm get?
It came within shouting distance, but missed us. Today is pleasant and sunny. A perfect day, with that incredible blue prairie sky.
