and I'll turn all my fans East. :)
Send your moisture West
Not TOO far west!!!!! We are getting plenty today thanks!!!
Glenda
Sorry Glenda. ;) Please send your moisture to Saskatchewan :)
(....... the others can jump in if'n they need it. ;)
I'll gladly take a few degrees drop in temp.
Maybe you should turn your fan eastward Glenda........looking at the map it seems to me your farm is at the most northerly tip of that hot spot.

How about sending some of that moisture to Alberta too..Here we could sure use it..But mind you I don't want any of the hail that some are getting...
Not too worry ladies, you'll get your precipitation; we are sending some your way. According to the Weather Network, looks like Manitoba will get the hot stuff next.
We had 7 day of 30 - 35 degrees C. last week. It was deadly for some of my new seedlings. We can expect these temperatures in June, July and August, but May was just too freaky and too soon.
Don
NO! Please! Not that hot! I'll point my fans your ways!
Steve
We don't want it either Steve......we've had it for awhile now and Alberta and southern Saskatchewan sure didn't get the snow cover melt (or early spring rains) to get us though this kind of heat. Rain is expected to fall tonight and tomorrow somewhere in this province (not holding my breath on the amounts) and golf ball sized hail has already been sighted. :'( Most of my plants have been pulled inside the porch again.
Thank goodness by Wednesday we should be back down to normal temps......we won't say which way that high is headed. ;S

You must need the moisture out there way more then we do, we didn't get any snow melt either but we've been getting alot of rain lately.
Too bad we can't send some of it your way :(
It's supposed to get warm here by the end of the week....low 20's I think.
That's a good temp for me.
Steve
Yep it looks like the heat will have moderated by the time it gets to you. AND by the looks of it next weekend will be a good one for all of Canada (and BAM and prolly Soferdig) to get our plants in the ground (or pots). :)
Still raining here Pam, but looks like it should slow down tomorrow. It has been a nice rain. Friends in Eston yesterday said they had to put their air conditioner on, temperature in the low thirties!!!!
No idea how the seeding is going, there, but hopefully it should be done since they have had good weather. Now a nice rain for them would be good.
Glenda
It'll be over us tomorrow......we are expecting +32. Yep that rain would be very appreciated now. Our grass already is starting to look like it usually does under the baking heat of August. Some of our trees looked pretty stressed early this spring......we will be pulling the sprinklers out here before we head off to the garden patch in the am.

I wish I could send some your way.....our resevoirs are overflowing! But then 'drought' and 'Newfoundland' are an oxymoron (unless you refer to our fishery!)
LOLOLOL ;)
........ sadly tho it isn't here (re drought being an oxymoron).
We, being the Moose Jaw area, didn't get any precip. last night. How did you fare Kinnika?
The most promising outlook is for tonight (and then it looks like BC will be blessed with more after that).

Hmmm reverse the wind farms out west and try to suck the rain out east back over West :).
Btw today there is some blue sky visible here after over two weeks of rain so don't turn your wind farms up too high :)
LOLOLOL
Well after hearing that I'll make a special request that they don't turn them up too high. After all your
'Le Rendez-vous Horticole'
(an annual event for plant lovers at Montréal Botanical Garden.)
is coming up next weekend and I sure want to see pics from it. ;) Hope you and zarcanat have a wonderful time!
In all honesty, we had no rain for the entire month of May until 2 days ago when we had 45 mm. Things were actually getting dry here but the rain has suddenly made the lawns turn vibrant green. Strangely all that rain in Quebec didn't make it to Newfoundland.
I'm amazed! I'm pretty sure Mr. Creel has some pics that make Montreal look like a rainforest this spring (I'm positive they wished they had duck feathers ;).
Didn't last too long but it sure will help (and maybe encourage more rain to fall tonight........no hail please!). +32 still expected this afternoon..........& boy will we be HUMID.
Thundering here now. Would like a little rain please, but don't want to have to run out there in a hail storm to put my tomatoes and annual flats under protection. Supposed to hit 31C or so here today also. Email from DS in Fort St. John says they got? or are getting 40mm. at 11C. These three word emails are sometimes hard to decipher. So hello to Franalan, pdenns and gluestik.
You're brave echoes leaving it all out. I chickened out and pulled all mine in last night (I'm NOT gonna lose them before they are even planted out).......mind you I have a feeling you have a lot more plants out there. ;)
I was hoping the sky woud water them for me. So far just dark skies and that's not looking too promising anymore.
Yesterday, May 22nd, was the 2nd wettest May 22nd on record for Victoria with 28.something mm of rain. The parade got soaked, lots of other events rained out, today it's nice. We did need the rain though, it's been really dry.
Like Todd said we had rain most of May,come to think of it we had rain sence last May last summer was the pits and so was the fall,we had some snow in Jan,and Feb and thats rain as will ,you can have as much as you can carry lol.
And im sick of cutting my grass allready.
Sounds like much of the west then is grateful for what we can (did) get. It rained a bit more this afternoon and now the heat and humidity is rising (the night should be cool however :).
digging you aim your fan up high and I'll have those wind farms (good idea Milan ;) work on pulling your moisture this-a-way. From what the weather sites are showing the heat should be way down east by this weekend (not sure about your Island location tho).
we had heat heat heat yesterday and rain rain rain today
gave my sister a half day of custom planting with product as one of her HB presents so did her yard yesterday - great timing for her
my yard meanwhile looks like it has been invaded by white trash
i am getting so slow in my old age and spring has come with a vengeance here; my hostas are 8 inches tall (this is the first year they have even broken thru the ground before the first of june) the apples have flowered and finished
the WEEDS look like texas imports; but how about those OILERS !!!!!!!!
LOLOLOL your yard sounds somewhat familar Lynn (in our case it's the veggie plot that's looking great. ;) Wonderful gift you gave to your sister BTW!
re Oilers one NHL player from a team in the states ran into DD ....... he is hoping Edmonton picks him up.
Your Oilers are doing too well.........my DH spends way toooooo much time in front of the t.v. right now. ;)
Well still no rain here..I swear it is going all around us.We even had a severe Storm watch out both nights but we never even got a drop of rain just LOTS of wind..I am relly tired of bringing in tomatoes and flowers..
As for the Oilers we have both been long time Oiler fans and wish them all the luck in the world...
No rain around me in town either. There was a terrific but brief downpour yesterday afternoon just north of town where I was doing a dog seminar(inside) but nothing in town.
Wishing you two lots of the above ........ & hoping we get more!!! Just got off the phone with DD kinnka and she said it is lightning and thundering so hopefully you are seeing it too now (and getting the rain).
We are also Oiler fans........that is why DH will be glued to t.v. again on Thursday night (if I've got the night correct......he *owns* the t.v. guide ;).
Send as much heat as you can lily, might get here i think canada ends in halifax,so it might get here there are times this spring yellowknife had warmer temps then us, and we had more frost this spring them we had this winter now thats %^%$$ up weather for you lol so even a ziplock bagy of heat wouldnt go astray.
But like you said its suppose to warm up later this week ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i hope so.
We are doing pretty good sending the heat in your direction digging.....now hold up your end and get that moisture to come here. :)
YIPEE--YAHOO---IT IS RAINING!!!!!!!!
doing the HAPPY dance here...We sure need it..I made a camper that was in the shop yesterday kind of peeved off at me as I said I hoped it rained. Of course camping they sure didn't want it but I just smiled and said sorry but I hope you get drenched.LOLAccording to our forecast we are suppose to get it for the next 4 days YAHOO!!!!!The only thing I worry about is I see a low for I think it was Thursday night of 2 so I will have to watch that very carefully...
In the mean time we are all smiling here.
Rain for 2 days now and that is great for our gardens but please-please-doG stop the rain and make the sun shine on Sunday afternoon betwen 12 and 4pm.
Cause my garden is 'open' to members of the Hort. Society and I dont want to have to stay outside for 4 hours in the rain!
Please!
LOLOL & Congratualtions kinnika!!!Ü
Carol send it here (over Drumheller of course)......we've been getting little showers on and off but I'll take more (so will my veggies that are popping through the soil now :). Wishing you a wonderful day (and the Hort members are going to love your garden :).
Kinnika, I love your kitty picture. Please bring that poor fella in out of the rain. I wonder if the sun is shing in Drumheller this afternoon? Glad some rain fell where it was really needed. We had a good thunder cracker this morning and the skies are brightening up now. Must go out and check if anything was dammaged.
Lilypon your heat came to day,but you could have keeped the blackflies, mann thay are brutil i bought a sandcherry yesterday and planted it to day there were so meny flies i couldnt see what i was doing and when thay bit it herts.
