dmj -- ain't it the truth! I taught in both middle school and high school some years ago, and I think instead of sending people to prison we should make them teach eighth grade. But I guess that would be cruel and unusual punishment.

ROFLOL!!!
hey I teach 8th grade--don't think of it as quite prison--but I bet I'm burning lots of karma off for my next life time! :)
I find most men I know to be similar to 8th graders in many ways....I'll let ya know if I'm coming over your way this summer. Gotta a brother in Groves and cousins in Lumberton. Any good nurseries over that way? I haven't been nursery 'crawling' over that way in about 20 years--sort of graduated from college and got out of Dodge as soon as I could--but I was living along the Neches river. We lovingly refer to Lamar as the 'Harvard on the Neches'. My dad rretired from there and moved to San Antoine but I still have a cousin whose dept chair of Geology dept--need to come see him some time.

dmj, my degree is from Harvard on the Neches, and for a while I was a geology major (a LONG time ago). As for some nursery hopping, I've only been to one but there are others. If you come at a time I can get away, we'll figure it out and do some damage.
longer than say--1985? Then I bet you know one of my cousins, he's now dept. chair of Geology.
edited to add: I did buy some chocolate mint today--see, I can keep to the theme. lol

(Back from a weekend of backbreaking sodbusting and fencebuilding)
My college career is checkered due to having kids -- I was out there in the early 70s, then the late 70s, then the late 80s -- finally got the degree in 89. Hey, at least I got the degree! Who's your cousin? I do know some people out there.
