I just wanted to share this beautiful llily with you......I have never seen one like this and of course I had to have it......well 2...shirleyt
I have discovered lilies
Wonderful! Looks like it might be Gran Cru? You know, one lily leads to another..... and another..........
Yep, first one lily and pretty soon an obsession!
LOL
I'm laughing but it's NOT funny!
I'm in deep therapy and it's costing me a mint!
BTW, Any more pics?!
Could that be an amaryllis of some kind?
That is St Joseph's Lily and it is an Amaryllis. It's considered an heirloom by Old House Gardens. It's really beautiful. Too bad you can't see the inside of the bloom. There's little white stripes.
shirley--welcome to the "crazy about lilies" club!
I am not sure what is a lily and what is an amaryllis......but I do have some pics I will share with you some are here and some are at my daughters....This is just part of these...as you can see I did not get much gardening done....still clearing debri....These came from one mothers day plant three years ago.... this is only one area of them as I have made new clumps in other places...It amazes me how fast they multiplied......shirleyt

Great pics! we have to grow them in pots here. Too cold in the winter.
The white spidery flower is a Peruvian Daffodil.
I had no Idea that it was a daffodil we always call it a spider lily..... I do not know proper names of anything....just what old timers called things in this area... should I study this or just go with the flow.....I am not sure my brain could handle it at this late date......shirleyt
Shirley, it is also called a Spider Lily, but it is not a true Lilium. Just go with the flow. I was only making a comment for the sake of conversation. Half the time when people start tossing the Latin names around, I don't have a clue what they are talking about.
