Anyone know what causes these spots on my water oak leaves? One tree has them pretty heavily. They look like black dots when looking up into the tree.

Spots on oak leaves
I researched it and identified it as oak leaf blister. Never heard of it before.
Taphrina leaf blister affects many of the red oak types, but usually not with any serious consequences.

It appears to be oak leaf blister. Had it last year in a white oak, black oak and red oak. Confirmed by local county agricultural extension agent. Does no apparent harm. Waiting to see if it repeats. Lived with these trees 34 yrs and last year was first ever occurrence.
