Starting Daylily Seeds

I collected some last fall and would like to plant them this spring. Is it too late? It was recommended to start them in the fall indoors, but I never did. Do they take longer to germinate if they are older? Anyone here grown any? I want to keep it simple.

I just soak them in water for 2 days, you may see them break open. Then put them in potting soil, and they may or may not germinate. I have had moderate success, but they will probably need to stay in a pot this year.

I am no expert, but I have soaked the seeds in peroxide water for 2-3 days then planted in potting soil and I have just planted the seeds into the potting medium.

I have had the best luck with just putting them into the potting medium and letting them do their thing.

I use the jiffy peat pellets for my potting medium and once the roots are growing out of the bottom, I just plant them out into a seedling bed.

This may not be the right way to do it, but so far it is working for me.
