You can see a little red stripe in each petal but that doesnt show as much in real life.

Emma! What a great link! I can't red it either but there was a really neat looking plant on it. The ID read: Rhodochiton atro sanquineum...now I have no idea what that means, but I would really like to know what the heck it is. It kind of looks like a brug...but not quite.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

BamaBelle, Rhodochiton is a vine. It has a lovely
calyx that stays colorful long after the tubular flower has fallen off.
These are usually available as seeds

Janett_D - Your petals are starting to show very nice form(!)...as can be seen on this flower here
http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=2271449

The individual petals are showing very nice separation and approaching the 'lollipop' shape that I mentioned in a previous thread...the flowers can look very outstanding when each petal is nicely separated and has a distinctive 'lollipop cut' to it...getting plants that consistently produce nicely separated and very 'typey' petals is a 'rare',but 'mystical' experience...

Emma, you are right it looks like a perfect match.
About reading that link, that is Dutch ! its like reading German and a tiny bit Swedish mixed in with a lot of jibberish rotflol but I can always understand the importand words and therfore understand the content.

Bamabell, Patootie is right. I dont know why the dutch put in the "atro" it has nothing to do in the name. It should only say Rhodochiton sanquineum. Its a vigorous vine that reaches 10 feet but many here in Europe grow them in hanging baskets. And I think that it is a perennial in your zone, atleast it is in zones that dont get frost or only get the odd light frost.
Here you have a US link for seeds http://www.swallowtailgardenseeds.com/vines/purple_bell_vine.html

Ron, it really have nice separated petals and the petals doesnt seem to be as sticky as the other Morning Glorys I have.
Here is what I woke up to see this morning. Look at the bud to the right. :0))
