Hi nannanvarro....thank you for the welcome and I'm so happy to see someone from Maryland. Very familiar with Silver Spring....have lived and worked there.
Beautiful photo of "Annabelle".....Violet_Treasure! I'm sure I'm going to like this variety very much. Can't wait to receive it.
Annabelle Update
Welcome Snow ! I am so happy with my Annabelle ! She is such a delight ! I have about 8 leaves down for sharing of her too !
Hey Snowrose. Critterologist is from your area. We just went to PA and the Violet Gallery on Tuesday. When we go again would you like to go with us? It's a lovely ride to York Springs and lots of violet talk.
Nanna my old Annabelle in here but now she has three times more Bells Open :))
Did the bells stay true? Yes the did. We've got two threads going.

yup I bumped this so you could see the pictures I took
on May 12th. she has double or more flowers now the blueberrys opened !
Mine still has more blueberries.
I gave my Birthday Annabelle a make over today ! She has three large suckers, and with taking them off five leaves came along. So I have three learge suckers that will be rooting and reading for adoption soon ! Of course Eunice has first Dibs on one if she did not get herself one. And I have five more leaf pots now ! Some of my other leaf pots have babies coming up !
Not bad as Annabelle sell's a a special for $12.99 and set of leaves $ 8.00. I am having a wonderful time and enjoying her ! I may have a whole bunch of blooming Annabelles ! She is so beautiful I would not mind.
Mine is still blooming but I noticed that the leaves were getting a little droopy. I took her out of the pot to see if she was getting too much water and sure enough. I didn't remove enough of the original soil when I repotted her for wicking. The peat was still heavy and clumped inside the root ball. I let her dry out for a couple of days and then took as much of the original peat from her roots and put her in a very light soil. I am watching her to see if the shock was too much and I need to snip off all the blooms. So far she is doing OK.
Oh my goodness I'm glad you caught her drinking too much. I think in the Nursery control enviromets they need heavy soil the way they water is different than wicking . Sometimes I don't get to trans-planting for a month or two but then I take all the soil off I possible can. Sorry you had to take off all her flowers . She will have zillions more soon!
My first Annabelle has been re-potted twice as she has just grown fast even with now she's had about a dozen leaves off of her all from the middle row. But she still looks really great and zillions of flowers and more Berries opening each day . The first trans-plant was to wash. and neam oil, take old soil off ,wick with my soil-less light mix and into a new Bleached 4 inch azeal pot. But before I knew it she was root bound so then again she was re-potted into a 5 inch azeal pot and she is very Happy ! I won't take any more leaves off of her anymore.
And my Birthday plant WOW I will take pictures today ! I picked her up yesterday she was stoned dry which made it easy to get all the soil off. And the big sucker plants I took off I was amazed ! I took a lot of bloom stalks off that had more spent flowers than live. But she still has lots of flowers and is looking very Happy.
Oh too have a home full of blooming Annabelles !
And yes don't forget Isabelle is coming soon. I worte them they said Isabelle's leaves were up by mistake and taken off as she is not ready yet. I think they saw how well Annabelle sold and want to do the same with Isabelle ! But I sure wished I bought her leaves I know some people did as her picture has been posted on other groups ! SOON ! Isabelle I can't wait !
