Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

hubby saved like 8 crepes this past spring now they are finally coming out really good and everything but i have noticed a few with what i believe is powdery mildew on them.

we have had alot of rain recently and cold temps where rain isnt drying so fast.

i need something better then a spray as i have cats how will be around these trees.

thanks Marie

If you can't spray them then you'll have to let them fight it on their own. I doubt the mildew will hurt them much -- nothing else seems to!

We have the mildew all the time in Louisiana, some years worse than others. It won't hurt, just unattractive.

The powdery mildew will deform the new leaf and flower growth. They have concentrated spray at the nursery specifically for crape myrtles that combats powdery mildew. I think it's made by Fertilome. Not sure how it will affect the kitties, but my two are OK. They don't really spend much time under my crape myrtles though.
